Freewing SU-35 Dual 70mm Vectored Thrust EDF Jet - Receiver Ready

This 3D version of the Freewing SU-35 has more thrust (3000g) than the regular version. The ESC has now been upgraded to dual 60A Hobbywing ESC as of July 2013. The size of the Freewing SU-35 is an amazing site to behold. This plane is one of the largest, most sophisticated, foam EDF jets made. Whether you like scale flight or outlandish maneuvers, the Freewing SU-35 can do it all. We think the Freewing SU-35 is one of the most entertaining EDF jets out there. The specs alone are amazing. The SU-35 is built from EPS foam and has nylon hinged control surfaces, shock absorbing landing gear, dual motors, dual ESC, dual 70mm EDF fans, and runs on a 6 cell LiPo battery. We are not sure what else to ask for in an EDF jet.

  • NEW Dual Hobbywing 60A ESC

  1. Great jet, Great Service

Posted by Unknown on 9th Jun 2014

The jet is incredible! Huge, Very maneuverable and good power out of the box. It is a ton of fun. Since I land on a grass runway I programmed full time thrust vectoring, flapperons, and elevons (just like the read deal!). Lands at a crawl and the flaps + thrust vectoring helps it rotate on the grass. The free shipping is great! Good deal and they got it in the mail the day after I ordered it!

  2. Great jet from a great company

Posted by Jordan on 18th Mar 2014

Beyond impressed with this model! Its huge and extremely well thought out. I haven't flown it yet, due to the snow here in Michigan right now, but cant wait. Everything works correctly and setup was not too difficult using my DX7S. Fans definitely needed to be balanced though. Other than that I am super happy with it. Also, I must note, the service from MotionRC has been stellar. The jet arrived at my house two days after ordering and I chose the free shipping option! Any future jet purchases will be made through MotionRC.

  3. Freewing SU-35 twin 70mm

Posted by Laks on 14th Nov 2013

First of all, the product came well packed and I never found any damage to the plane. And next the plane was shipped the very next day which never happened with other online stores like Hobbyking, Nitroplanes etc,, Kudos to MotionRC for prompt delivery and Quality of the package.

I would say, yet another Quality plane from Freewing. Easy to assemble, all the control surfaces worked as expected and flew very well. I’m using 6S 5000 35-70c battery; ensure to set the expo for elevator as it is touchy. I found the jet is stable even when it soars slowly.

Overall a good plane, I rated 4 due to front landing gear which could have made little stronger but still it is good.

  4. Very good plane

Posted by Matt on 31st May 2013

Very pleased with this plane. Flies beautifully. Impressed with the quality of it.
Had one small problem with the right rear elevator not going back to neutral. Tom at motion rc was able to help me trouble shoot the problem. The carbon fibre rod that supports the elevator half was slightly warped. A little sanding of the rod fixed the problem. I will be buying from motion rc again. Very happy with their customer service.

  5. Great build minus the servos

Posted by Ben on 22nd May 2013

Loved this plane but an aileron servo failed and I lost control 5 minutes into the flight and the plane went careening into a tree. I will replace all the Freewing servos with Futaba digital servos on the next one to make sure that doesn't happen again. Otherwise, this plane does it all. I flew it with the recommended MRC 5000 mAh 6S and found it to be a bit nose heavy. The vectoring servos were also too small to properly drive the vectoring without glitch or lag. I replaced them with better and larger digital servos and will do so again on the replacement plane.

  6. "Big Bird" that is a hoeny of a plane

Posted by Pheonix on 3rd Mar 2013

Flew Friday and yesterday. What a great flyer. The first flight was of course for trimming purposes. I used the 3700 3-cell batteries for this flight for about 3-minutes. After landing, I checked the batteries and they were quite hot. For the second flight, I used a 6-cell 3850 65C and the plane "rocked" for a little over 4-minutes. after landing, the battery was cool and all 6-cells read 3.80 or better. I am considering using a 6-cell 4000 MA with at least 40C. This should give me the extended flying time I want, i.e., 4- 5 minutes. Good job ,MRC with this one as with the F-18. Watch that long needle on the nose, it break easily. cannot decide which one I like best, the SU-35 or F-18. Thanks MRC for the great customer service for both planes. Will be buying another one real soon.

  7. Simply Awesome Plane

Posted by Pheonix on 10th Feb 2013

This is simply a great plane. It is easy to build and the over all quality is excellent. Every thing works the way it should. I like this plane so much that I purchased the Freewing F18.

  8. ByFar my favorite

Posted by Jayson on 1st Jan 2013

I have 42 Jets at this stage in the game, and i have to save all in all, this is my favorite of the fleet, and number 2 would be the Free-wing F18. Just something about having ample power, reliable landing gear, and awesome flight characteristics. that make this my absolute Favorite EDF Jet... If your thinking of buying, BUY!
