  1. Speedster than can take deep turns 4 Star Review

Posted by on 7th Jul 2015

Have finally gotten the Plane dialed in & have put it through its paces.
1.Hard raked turns at speed are predictable, no departures/wing drops, minimal wing flexing!
    2. Does have a minimal yawing going on sometimes at speed
    3. Lands best/most predictably at half flap.. not full!
    4. Can take large to small Packs, no difference in handling noticed (I used 2500 50C) to 3700mah 50C)
    5. 4 Blade prop are marginally out of balance, should be balanced for best results.
    6. Buy a few extra's props before you even fly as any 4 blade prop will break in nose over
    6. CG listed is very very wrong, I went 1" forward to Settle the plane down. Spent initial flights just fighting tail heavy condition till I read correct position. Note by Motion should be included in box on this!
    7. Get another P51 as one ain't enough & better to have 2 .. so there's enough to take you through summer
    8. Can we have a warbird P51D version of this model please Motion?

  2. Nice 4 Star Review

Flies really well and unlimited vertical. I feel it's pretty plain on detail compared to other FMS planes

  3. A good plane to have 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jun 2015

Actually this is my 2nd one my other was in the back of my truck as I was going to the airfield and blew out of the back very badly damaged decided to buy another one and keep the first one as extra parts.... I think the second one actually flies better than the first

  4. Flies like a boss. 5 Star Review

Very cool airplane flies like it has a system in it this is great flying P51 I put a 3200 and i also fly it with a 4000 flies like a boss.

  5. ZOOMS!!! 4 Star Review

Posted by on 21st May 2015

Watch what happens when you throw a 4000mAh 4S Lipo in there with a 10 x 12 propeller (cut-down 12 x 12)! Don't take your eyes off of this baby...it MOVES! Rock solid, predictable, performance! The only thing I noticed is the gear, when down, has toe-out...easily corrected to the appropriate amount of toe-in for smooth ground handling. I put a slightly smaller diameter spinner on mine to help force air inside the cowl to help cool the motor. Never ceases to amaze me the level of detail being achieved with foam these days! MotionRC is spectacular to deal with, fair prices, responsive, and has exceptional customer service personnel!

  6. Awsome plane 5 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Apr 2015

The plane got here in perfect shape, the paint and decals are just perfect, the plane parts all fit just like there supposed to and it went together just fine, great looking plane and the power of the motor is scary fast. had a minor issue with motor on my maiden flight but Motion Rc took care of it with out any problem, looking forward to my next purchase of the B25 bomber.

  7. OMG it's my new favorite plane!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 2nd Apr 2015

just picked this up and i have to say out of the box this mustang is sweet!! everything went to together perfect and setup was a breeze! This plane is without a doubt my favorite one, it flys like butter and handles like it's on rails when flying wide open. Motion Rc thanks for the awesome service and great plane!!

  8. Outstanding!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Apr 2015

This plane is an outstanding plane! It flies like it is on rails and like all FMS/RocHobby planes, it went together like a dream. I own 11 Rc planes most of them by FMS and have never had an issue with them. Out of my eleven planes, this plane moved straight into first place as my favorite with outstanding speed, aerobatic abilities, and amazing scale looks. It's a great price for what you get and I recomend it for anyone who has experience flying fast and agile planes. This plane is amazing therefore it deserves five stars!

  9. Awesome plane--but. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jan 2015

Got this plane for our Grandson for Christmas.
A week later when we opened the box, first thing we saw
was the rudder was separated!(hinge), so called cust. service
and they were GREAT! Sent us the parts for repair. Then when we finally go to fly, found the "tailwheel' was spinning free. 2nd call to cust service, and they wanted to send a set screw instead of replacing the plane. heck with that!Fixed ourselves, and plane is just awesome!
We rate the plane 5 stars, but Quality control gats 1 star!

  12. Superior model! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jan 2015

    The Product:

High quality, excellent craftsmanship, good manual, and one of my favorite airplanes to fly. Using a 4 cell 2200mah battery pushed all the way forward and the CG is perfect. Excellent flight characteristics in both high and low speed envelopes.
I do recommend before assembling the aircraft, move all the control surfaces back and forth in order to loosen them up.

    Motion RC:

This has been my first purchase from Motion RC and it has been an excellent experience. Fast shipping, great packaging, and the model arrived in excellent condition. Thanks MOTION RC!!

  13. Maiden Fligt 5 Star Review

Posted by on 1st Jan 2015

Hello, I'm Mike Greenlaw. I finally got a chance to Maiden my Motion RC P-51 Srega. All I can say is this one is a winner. When I unboxed I immediately noticed the quality of the finish. The workmanship on the aesthetics is spot on. You see good paint from time to time but a lot of times it rubs off easily. After transporting it to the field and back and flying it 4 times I realized the finish was very tough. Enough about the looks. I got it to the field I set it up and taxied to the runway. This is the spot all modelers get the butterflies. I eased into the throttle and off it went. I got it up to my normal maiden flight altitude and eased off to check for trim. All I had to do was bump a tiny bit of up elevator and I was done. This thing is amazing. Very stable and really powerful. Each time I flew it I liked it more. I can't tell you how happy I am about my purchase. I used the recommended receiver and batteries from Motion RC. The batteries are a cut above. I slid the batteries all the way into the hole made for it and CG was perfect. I was up to 6 minutes and will probably bump to 7 next time I fly. I totally love this model. GET IT!!! You'll be glad you did. There were a couple small negative issues I'd like to explain. First, the book has the CG backwards. It says the CG is forward of the wing base but it is rearward. Secondly the servo center screws were loose. That's it. So if you are looking for a good size model that is easy to fly, performs great and looks really good this is it.

  14. Need for Speed 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Dec 2014

Excellent air craft with out a doubt. Very fast, nimble, and stable at high speeds. Unlimited vertical as I flew into the clouds. Will go out of sight quickly. No wing flex in high speed turns. Solid and well thought out design. Cation when landing with full flaps, will nose over if not on the stick. Typical of any P51. My only dislike is the turning radius of the rear tail wheel when taxiing. Will need to check this out and improve it. I love this little rocket ship over all just the way it is. Pocket radar clocked this bird at 85mph consistently. Great job MRC

  15. Great plane... but fix the incorrect CG in the manual! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2014

I've had this plane over a month, but got to maiden it today due to it arriving with a bad servo in the wing.

As others have pointed out, the CG printed in the manual is *wrong*. The correct place to measure CG is from the rear-most edge of the plastic landing gear cover on the top of each wing. Keep the wheels extended, turn the model upside down, and put your fingers on the rear edge of that cover.

I used the larger of the two recommended batteries (4S, 2500mAh Admiral), and with the battery almost fully forward, the Strega balances like a dream. I put the wire-end of the battery in first, because the wires are pretty long and could interfere with the servos. Doing it this way, tightens up some of the slack in the wires.

I eyeballed the control surfaces, making them all level with each other, took a deep breath, and gave the plane some power. I suggest using high rates during take-off, because this plane wants to steer left on the ground when under some power, and you'll need a LOT of right rudder to counteract it. If you're on low rates, you might not have enough rudder! In fact, for the second flight, I just left it on high rates, as that's more suited to my style of flying.

To my amazement, I needed no trim at all! Nothing! It flies great with the standard 4-bladed prop and has a good amount of acceleration. I tested its stalling characteristics... and found it doesn't really have any! It just slows down, and eventually noses over. No spin.

I consider myself a low-end intermediate flyer. I do aerobatics, but am not yet a pattern-flyer by any stretch of the imagination. I only got to fly the Strega twice, and was surprised at how fast it lands. That's quite possibly my inexperience with the plane, and not trusting myself with flying it slower... but I had a 600ft runway, so I used it! :-)

In summary, don't follow the CG in the manual, eyeball the control surfaces to make them level with each other, and give it some juice, you'll love it!
