  1. great fast flyer

Posted by john on 22nd Jul 2014

easy to assemble and balance.....a real blast to fly and easy to land.

  2. Flies just like the real Mustang

Posted by Tim on 9th Jul 2014

A lot of bang for the buck. Flaps, retracts, 70 amp esc to run 4s all for $199!

Caution: takeoff and landing can be a handful just like the full size Mustang.

Takeoff: if you quickly cob in the power you better be ready to feed in lots of right rudder. If you are slow to do so you may find yourself off to the weeds stage left.

Landing: don't quit flying it until it arrives at your feet. Carry a little power all the way to touchdown. Then keep the tail up until it drops on its own. If you drop the tail at speed the wing will blank out airflow across the rudder and again you are heading to the weeds.

Once you master the takeoff and landing techniques you will be rewarded with a excellent flying and great looking plane.

I have seen the real one many times at Reno and the model looks just like it in the air.

  3. great plane from motion r c

Posted by fred from florida on 27th Jun 2014

Had to get second plane after my dumb act of showing 1st off to buddy's, gave everyone a trill with vertical ability and flew into clouds never to be seen again by any bystanders or myself again.
$200.00 error I will NOT do again.

  4. Strega Air Racer.

Posted by Robbie Holman on 25th Jun 2014

I've flown this model enough that I have worn out the first set of wheels. No problems, A lot of plane for the money.

  5. STREGA PRO RENO AIR RACER. AWESOME PLANE

Posted by fly&drive R/C on facebook on 13th Jun 2014

The strega is one amazing model, first off the detail is stunning, ease of assembly, retracts were cycled 2 times before first flight and functioned perfectly.
After the pre-flight, I took it to the field and it quickly became my favorite new plane
18 flights and zero issues, retracts are STONG and dependable, flight characteristics. Are excellent, fun, fun plane to fly.
    I highly recomend this plane
Check out the critical mass plane also from roc hobby and motion rc, , yet another outstanding plane
    and I'm fussy
    Happy landings pilots

  6. Best Ever

Posted by Kevin Ivey on 31st May 2014

This is a very nice plane!!! Handles great and has a great presence in the air. I am always getting onlookers when I start to taxi this one out!!! And it is FAST!

  7. Really Impressed

Posted by Gentile on 24th May 2014

I bought this plant for the looks and that can often be a shallow decision. Well, it went together easy and yes, it looked great. I did the maiden this morning and holy cow, this plane is a gem! I used the 4 cell setup. Take offs were uneventful on grass. The plane flew well at speed, which is incredible, and just lugging around the field dirty with the gear down and half flaps. Smooth response to the controls, great sound, and landings were slow and smooth. I am impressed with this plane and it really gets attention at the field. Nice job on this one guys!

  8. Strega ROCKS!

Posted by Michael Abbott II on 23rd May 2014

I received my Strega as a Christmas gift from my wife this year and I have been patiently waiting to fly her and today was the day! Late spring here in Michigan and the winds have not let up.

The Strega is fast, she flies like a dream, takeoffs are smooth at less than half throttle and she settles in perfectly for landings at 25% to 30% throttle. Flaps on takeoffs or landings are not needed. Our landing strip is grass that is roughly two to three inches tall and I had very little trouble wheeling her aground. Winds were 10 to 15 MPH and I had no issues. Trim was not to far off but I did have to put in a lot of down to keep her from climbing. At full throttle she likes to climb but not difficult to adjust to.

Like many other reviews on CG I too agree that the CG in the directions is incorrect, way off. I read the reviews on here and then just placed my 4S 2600 pack in the forward position and she was dead on. I did not add any counter weight. I was safely getting 5 minutes out of my 2600 packs.

I bought an extra Strega nosecone and some APC 12x12 two bladed props. I trimmed the nosecone to fit the APC prop, cut the pops down to 11 inches and balanced them. This is a great upgrade that I would recommend to any “Speed Junkie”, I could definitely tell the difference in speed. It was difficult for most at the airfield to tell it was a 4 bladed prop nosecone with the APC prop. (Motion any update on that two blade conversion kit we have been hearing about?)

MOTIONRC customer service is above and beyond AWESOME! Free shipping on my ordered, which I placed on Monday morning and my package was at my front door Tuesday at 4:30pm. Every order I have placed from motionrc in the past has arrived in two days.

Now, how do we get MOTIONRC to build this AWESOME Strega in a 1400mm size? If you build it, they will come…

    Michael

  9. Need For Speed ?

Posted by Dennis Anderson "The Birdman" on 22nd May 2014

What a Hot Rod ! I have over 25+ Planes. All EPO Foam. Motion RC has the good Stuff. This Strega is a well thought out Plane. It is so gorgeous you don't want to crash it.Just take it easy on your take off. It has so much power you don,t want to torque it over.It will leave the EDF Jets in the rear view mirror if it had one.So nice how slow it will it will land for how fast it is.This Racer get your Heart Rate up.With all the carbon spars every place it is Tough Bird.It is windy hear most of the time. I have to fly in 10 to 20 MPH Winds most of the time. This Bird will handle it. CG Forward is best.I think the CG in the specs is wrong*** ***The Birdman*** ; Mojave,Ca

  10. Great plane

Posted by Richard on 17th May 2014

Ordered plane on Friday may 9 at 5pm received it on Monday may 12,2012 in Westchester New York, Motion how do you do it. Put plane together in less then an hour all went perfect. Plane out of the box was mint. Took it down to field today May 17 finally got some good weather up here.Flew as advertised fast and true. had to add more throw to elevator to get it to respond better. using a admiral 3000 and a guardian eagle tree stabilizer all fit in with know modification . Wind up here is always blowing off long island sound around 15 mph. Great plane and not expensive. Thanks MRC.

  11. Fragile motor mounts

Posted by Wesley Minear on 16th May 2014

I've been waiting over a month for motor mounts to be in stock...This Strega is fast and for older fliers it gets out of sight quickly.

  12. unlimited vertical

Posted by Unknown on 8th May 2014

This is a great plane. Builds in about an hour. Flies great slow or great fast take your pick. The most impressive is you point it strait up and give it full throttle and it is out of site. I gave it four stars is because if you do not hit the runway with it you will be working on the landing gear. The landing gear bends easily.

  13. Another great FMS/RocHobby plane

Posted by Mike on 4th May 2014

Build was real tight and nice. Screws and holes are big improvement over the FMS P-17 Stearman. Everything labeled and set up for success. Lots of wires to cram in the space it would have been nice to install a RX with pins on the side. Prop needed a bunch of balancing and spinner as well. Not real sure the white tape on the wing bottom is going to stay on.
Right now I'm just staring at this really beautiful plane waiting for some good maiden weather. Very happy with my purchase so far and have even more confidence in FMS and RocHobby.
    Mike

  14. fast and easy

Posted by Bartholomew on 23rd Apr 2014

easy assembly with very good instructions. very solid fast flyer.looks great in the air good color scheme is not confusing. looking forward to flying it again soon.

  15. Its Everything You See on the Video

Posted by Skip on 22nd Apr 2014

Easy to put together. Solid wing with double spars. No flex on the wing in flight at all. Super fast. Take off at 1/3 throttle or you will torque roll. Flew great on maiden flight and is easy to handle. Clearly an advanced flyers airplane. Not for beginners.
