Heads l win?! Tales u loose!!
I purchased a yellow Dynam Pitts M12 about 3wks ago. I was very reluctant in doing so because of all of the bad reveiws on Dynam planes. Buyers who bought planes with bad motors, smoking or fried ESC's, stripped or non-working servos, and severely warped main wing n tail feathers.(saw a few videos on warped stuff) One thing they all had in common was that they were all a few years old. Dynam been making this plane over 5yrs now, and I hope they make it a few yrs more, especially since l just bought one! I know myself, and I will need parts!! So l thought that surely qualitty control has improved by now and got one. Shipping took 5 days. Box was 98percent undamaged. Packaging was pretty good, but the prop shaft adapter is preinstalled and the nose of plane was facing towards the outside of the box. It started making large ,deep holes in both boxes! So the first thing I did was to check all electronics vigorously. Receiver, batteries, servos, esc, motor. Everything worked great!! , Only thing was that one of tthe 9g wing servos did not have as much movement as the other. Minor thing that could be adjusted out I think, but MotionRc sent another one quickly, along with a xt60female to T-connect male battery adapter, both free of charge! Next l checked all the body parts for signs of warpage, l found nothing. Checked all connection and mounting points for tight fitment with no loose connections. All looked good. Then made sure that l received all parts, pieces, and hardware, everything appears to be here! I feel bad for those who received a bad one, but mine appears to be in great shape!!!!! I'm going to take my putting it together over the winter. (clear coat n all that stuff to) Yes l would buy another one too, if l need to!!!! Lots of things to tinker with over the winter, planes mostly, might buy sumthin else!Can't wait for spring here in Minnesota. Good flying ya'll!! , I mean, you betcha!!!
I was reluctant to purchase this plane due to some of the negative reviews regarding spead controller, motor and warped tail feathers. I had none of those issues with my pits python. It came packaged very well. I put a few coats of clear polyurethane (water based) on everything before assembly. The build is pretty straightforward. The one thing I did and I recommend to others is to Velcro the hatch that conceals the receiver. If you glue it you will not be able to access the receiver hatch. After getting the plane completed and set up all control surface throws it was off to the field. It took very little trimming out to fly straight and level. The plane hovers very well and does most aerobatic maneuvers. It tumbles well and when I brought it in for the first landing it slowed down very well and it is very easy to land. I had to do a little foam trimming in the battery hatch to accommodate my Nanotech 4s 2600 Mah batteries. This is a very well thought out airplane. It is my second purchase from Motion RC. They have great customer support and fast shipping. I hope this review was helpful as I have 24 years of RC flying experience.
This is my third time buying this plane. It's a fabulous flyer. I lost the first one in dense trees and shrubs. The second one really got a lot of air time and a few pilot mishaps.. The last time I flew it we **** near had a mid air. I avoided the collision but was unable to recover and land it. Unfortunately, it was so badly damaged that it was beyond repair. I was able to save some of the electronics and that's why I ordered my third one. I'm just finishing up with the build so I'll be in the air soon. For a Dynam plane, I'd recommend it. It's cheaper than some other manufacturers but worth it!!!!!!!!! One thing that I do is coat all of my planes with Pledge Floor Care multi surface finish that I bought at Walmart. I spray it on lightly and use a soft cloth to rub it on. I do this after I put the decals on and assemble the planes. It really gives all my planes a brilliant luster and it help to prevent the colors from fading over time in the sun.

Excellent intermediate plane that flys like on rails
Dynam has some incredible airframes. Had an issue with one of the servos (rudder servo failed before flight while doing control surface checks), replaced with a high tech gear servo, rudder and elevator control horns weren't that great, replaced right away before even flying. After those issues were taking care of this plane has tons of power to hover and flys incredibly well! I have never had an issue landing this plane, quarter throttle and let it down slowly and will grease the landings perfectly every time!!
After many attempts this plane has yet to leave the ground
Motion RC is awesome, I got the order right away as promissed. I assembled the model and discovered the motor making an unusuall noise and so underpowered flight was impossible. I contacted Motion RC and received a replacment motor a few days later. This motor sounds much better but still so under powered flight is impossible, so far all I have done is barley lift off only to land hard and scratch up the pants and undercarage of my new model. Stay tuned as I have confidance that Motion RC will work with me to remidy these issues and an updated review I will submit. The Six String Flyer
Great aerobatic plane!
This is a great aerobatic plane, tons of power, but I think too heavy for much 3D flying. I'm using a 4 cell 2650 and there is really only one position for it, no CG issues. It spins like a top. Put some extra glue on fuselage mounts for top wing so they don't come loose. Definitely angle landing gear forward and beef up the landing gear screws. I changed out wheels for 3" Dubro lo bounce. As I said above that this is a heavy plane, so make sure to keep power on while setting up for final approach and throughout landing or you will stall and pancake. I would recommend this plane.
Follow up to my' worth the wait' review
The model has had it's share of problems but the end result is that it is still one great flying model. However to review the misses on the model, they are, 1 A 3 month wait for replacement part not RCM's fault but it delayed the completion of the model. 2 The motor threw a bearing on the 6th flight. replaced the motor. From what I read it seems a common occurrence. 3 As everyone has noted the accessories are really unserviceable. Dynam control horns with the press on top piece were loose even before the first flight and were replaced along with the control links and rods. Rudder/elevator servos swapped out to metal gear versions. The most serious thing is the elevator joiner. A simple piece of wire and while it is serviceable it has to remain glued in the slots cut into the elevators. I caught one of the bends coming loose before my 5th flight and re glued them in with epoxy after getting rid of the gum they call glue. A small piece of 1/64 plywood was fitted over the slots to keep the horn from deciding to make a quick exit. Opened up the area between the cylinders in the cowl as 90+ weather and humidity will **** the esc quickly, also put another set of magnets in to keep the cowl pasted to the firewall Had to reset the throttle as it had lag in it only engaging when about 1/8 throttle was applied. I glued the back top cowl permanently into position as it would be prone to coming loose in flight and I really didn't need it to come off again. OK, so it sounds like I don't like this model, nothing could be farther from the truth. Dynam makes really good flying models but has an ambivalent attitude on assembly instructions, parts fit and accessories. Take the time to go over the model carefully and try to eliminate every problem you can think of before your first flight. It is not a great 3D machine as it needs more power, most bipes do. But, it is one solid great flying model that will do all of the precision maneuvers that you ask from it So as I wrote in my first review it was worth the wait and the rebuild to get a solid, dependable flying model that should give me a few years of solid service. I have had 2 of these and 3 motors. I will say that they must have changed the revision of motors that they use in this model. I have been through 3 motors. Lost 2 during crashes. The crashes were extreme though. This is one of my go to airplanes. You can tell the more powerful motor by the magnets when you turn the prop. It almost locks and centers itself between the alignment of the magnets. I mixed in flapperons and it is almost a vertical landing. Takes off in about 3 feet and can climb vertical until you cant see it anymore. I suggest replacing the tail servers with metal gear servos as soon as you get the plane and save the original servos for another project. The rudder server usually breaks a tooth. So keep that in mind. Tape up the leading edges to prevent scuffs, Put a velcro strap in the battery compartment. You will twist that plane hard enough in the air that you will pop out the battery. Also pop out the magnets in the hatch and re-glue them with some strong glue. They do not stay in. That is why I suggest metal gear. A little out of the box maintenance / improvement and you will be very happy with this plane. Outside of that, this is a very fun plane. If you saw the yellow bi-plane out at flitefest 2016 this year, this was the one climbing straight up. I received a ton of complements on this plane and how it flew. I also flew it in the world record attempt. I fly this happily on a admiral 4s 2600. The plane balances with that battery out of the box. No additional weight needed.
