Heinkel He-111 1750mm (68.9") Wingspan from Black Horse - Balsa Wood ARF - BHHE00

Designed in 1934 to get around the restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles on military aircraft production, the Heinkel He-111 was initially produced as a commercial airliner that could be quickly and cheaply converted for military use as a bomber.

The He-111 served with the Luftwaffe throughout WW2, serving on all fronts and in a variety of roles as well as the bomber role synonymous with the type. After WW2, it was adopted by Spain as the  CASA 2.111 with whom it served until 1973.

The model is scaled to approximately 1:13 and attention was paid to a true to original appearance and best flight characteristics. The model was designed for electric drives but can also be flown using a matched pair of internal combustion engines of about 4.5cc displacement.

Great subject, old school model

The not so good: This is old and set up for gas, doesn’t include servos, retracts or power train etc. It’s also old school balsa and only semi-scale. The good: Seems to be made well, right covering and has panel lines painted in It is a unique model and nobody else is kitting one Summary: If you like the He-111 this is it; may as well pick one up!

HE 111 Blackhorse

I got one of the very last HE111s. It was actually an impulse buy, and I am happy with my impulse so far. Motion's lightning shipping had th big box here in 4 days. Packed well, and the box was about pristine. Now....I have barely unboxed the plane. The motors are on backorder still. I did get the ESCs and all the recommended servos. (a bit over 200 bucks) 2 motors, and then 2 4s batteries and a receiver....likely a bit over 800.00. Flight review will have to wait.... I love it

Black Horse Heinkel He111 bomber

I was impressed with the He111 when I opened the carton. Having not flown balsa for many years, I was surprised at the detail and quality of the parts. The finish is very well done with the Oracover material. The packaging was not great but sufficient to avoid damage. My box arrived with a very big bend in the middle of the carton. However, there was no damage from shipping. The model comes with the option of electric power or a gas powered version. Hardware for the gas version (motor mounts, gas tanks and hardware) are provided. The parts seem to fit well together. I am still in the process of building my He111. It comes with struts for either fixed gear or the option for retractable gear. The electric retracts are NOT included, however the struts and wheels are supplied. I am not a fan of 2 bladed props on an airplane that had 3 or 4 blades -so I will not be using the supplied spinners as they are designed for 2 blade props. I will be modifying the landing gear to be "close copies" of the original gear. This kit is a very nice kit and can be built as shipped. It also lends itself to be modified easily enough by a modeler with some experience, but you do not have to be an expert builder. I am looking forward to other models from Black Horse supplied by MotionRC!

Excellent Quality

I received mine today and the pictures don't do it justice. The covering has a nice matte finish and the panel lines look very good. Overall the whole model looks very well built. Looking forward to starting this in a few weeks.
