Dynam Primo V2 1450mm (57") Wingspan - (Plug-N-Play) - PNP - DY8971PNP

This is the new and improved version (V2) of the Dynam Primo. This new version now includes a Tomcat Skylord 40 Amp ESC, pre-installed flaps and pre-installed flap servos.  The Dynam Primo with its giant tundra wheels is a great high wing trainer molded after the super cubs the gifted bush pilots of Alaska might use where taking off and landing in less-than-ideal runways is a way of life.  Needless to say, this is a trainer that can accommodate virtually any flying surface you may require.  And what bush pilot would ever dare such treacherous runways without flaps?  The Dynam Primo includes working flaps to minimize your takeoff roll and landing roll out if space is a concern.

Powered by a BM3720A3-KV650 brushless motor and Skylord 40 Amp ESC the Primo packs a punch for a wide range flight envelope and for pulling out of trouble when you need it, yet offers outstanding slow flight capabilities for those newer to the hobby.

Nice plane

I have flown this plane for about a month now on weekends . The build on the plane was pretty easy no problems on the maiden flight the motor came loose from the motor mounts so you might want to check them . I was able to land the plane with no problem it has a nice glide slope . It has a lot of power when you run full throttle and has a nice sound to it . I don't bother with the flaps like I said glides in real nice I have yet to find any real problems with this aircraft . I get about 10 mins of flight time out of it . As far as the wheels go I took black electrical tape and where the wheel meets the ground I wrapped tape around the wheel and it cuts down on wear . I take off and land on grass and paved surfaces and it does very well I have other Dynam aircraft so I am used to their little quirks that other folks speak of in their reviews but for the money you can't these planes . As far as doing business with Motion RC they have been good and the shipping is quick so no complaints here .

Dynam Primo V2

Same issues as others have noted - wing doesn’t line up with bolt holes, very tight space for receiver, very small battery door and compartment, etc. Flown once and very squirrely. CG recommendation seemed too far forward, had to add some weight to the nose but stjll don’t think it’s right. You get what you pay for.

Fantastic Bush Plane Fun!

This plane is a blast to kick around with the 4S power it offers. Practicing STOL (short take offs and landings) is very fun and quite the challenge. Even on a 3S it still has plenty of power to do basic maneuvers and some sport aerobatics. The only problems I had with it was the flaps, roll rate and the gear. When first assembled the flaps tended to "stick" in place. I had to do a bit of work on the control surface in order to free them up and get them working smoothly. I also noticed that the black paint on the foam wheels tends to fall off it the grass you take off and land from is a damp. That only started to happen after around 4-5 flights though, and the time that the paint started flaking off it had rained the day before. So replacing the provided wheels with full rubber ones is an option if you want a more realistic look. The only over thing was that the roll rate seemed a little slow compared to a plane such as the FunCub for example. This plane's wing is larger though, which makes sense as to why it rolls a bit slower. Other than that though, overall this a great intermediate level plane, just make sure to dial in some down-elevator when you put on flaps so it doesn't end up doing a loop on takeoff!

Great plane ....except for the flaps

As always, fast shipping from Motion! The plane went together we'll with the normal small tweaks one does when assembling a foam kit.Flew great from the get-go...but I didn't even bother trying the flaps until I devised a simple solution. The geometry is incorrect for the flaps to work properly so I spun the flap control horns around and installed longer control rods off of an Apprentice I had kicking around...now they work great and I have a blast with the stol capabilities the plane was meant to have.

Decent first plane

Overall this is a good plane. Assembly was easy, except the tail wheel axle was too short to get the wheel collar on and had to solder the main landing gear together after the spot welds broke. Also would like to see a different servo horn on flaps so they move easier.

Dynam Primo V2 1450mm (57") Wingspan - PNP Build Review

I have an intermediate level of experience with assembling foamies from several different companies and have never run in to the problems this ARF presented. I originally purchased it for my nephew to assemble and learn to fly. After 2 hours of watching him doing all the right things with to no avail I finally stepped in as builder not just helper. I have enumerated the major problems below: 1. The wing did not come anywhere close to fitting the fuselage. The front lugs would not engage the receiver holes. The shape of the saddle was not even close to the shape of the wing. I finally had to cut away 5-10 mm of the entire saddle to get the lugs to engage in front and then reline the saddle with silicone to make the wing go to place. I have no idea of what could have happened at the factory to make this problem. 2. The screws for the rudder control horn were too short to engage the other side of the horn assembly. I shaved 1mm under the one side to make it work. 3. The vertical stabilizer was at approx. 350degrees related to the horizontal stabilizer when assembled. Obviously an unacceptable flying attitude. I had to heavily glue the vertical stabilizer to the horizontal stabilizer in the appropriate relationship and then assemble. This resulted in huge unsightly gaps on the left side where the two meet. 4. The axels are not even long evough to get the collar entirely on without preventing the tire from free movement. Needless to say I am embarassed with the result but you can be sure I will proudly say who made and who sold it unless you can come up with answers and a solution. Obviously near to impossible to return a deboxed partially assembled airplane or else I would have. Dynam will not ever get another chance for my business. The vote it still out about Motion RC. I'll have to see if they step up and resolve this! Delvin D. Hornbeck, 828-894-6353

Didn’t work

I think it will be fun to fly but out of the box the ESC was bad. Not a set up issue. I connected a spare ESC I had and it worked fine. I’m just tired of Chinese junk. I spent 10 years in China trying to transfer technology so I am very aware of their lack of quality awareness.
