Sweet flying aircraft.
This plane looks and flys great. Very stable and responsive. I bought the Pitts to learn aerobics on. Just Gota keep some power on when landing. Things I think need improving. Quality of the parts. The paint comes off the wings and fuselage very easily. The decals look as though they were applied by a 6 year old. The manual is not what your trying to assemble. Mainly the assembly of the prop. The landing gear/axle set up is weak. The outside of the axle rests in an indication on the wheel pants. If you land a little too hard, the axle becomes dis lodged and locks against the wheel pants causing the plane to flip on its back. Also, the design on the plane is a little bland like the wheel pants, no “Saddle” behind the canopy.....etc. I’m working on making it look/function (landing gear) a little better.
I Agree with Spar issue
Bit of a test of patience putting the wings on but worth the effort. Pay close attention to your manual trim setup and prepare for fun. Fly's like a dream. Plenty of power to hover on 3s and 4s is a blast.
Great flying airplane, has tons of power on a 4 cell. Very fast and flys sport aerobatics very well.
Beautiful little Pitts
I'm still working on it. I'm painting the white, yellow and adding a design to the wheel pants...which they seem to have forgotten. The decal/sticker application leaves some to be desired. Lots of bubbles at the sprues. I assume from off gassing. The decal edges have lifted in places, allowing white packing foam to get under and stick. The decals also are wrinkled at the wing tips due to the compound curves. I had to split the wrinkles and press them down. The wheels are hard as a rock and low bounce wheels are not available in this size. The pilot looks like a 5 year old kid sitting in there. You don't sit in a Pitts, you wear it. I am actually very happy with it after all is said and have no regrets buying it. I always enjoy a challenge and I love a Pitts. Buy one, you'll love it! Doc
Good looking plane. Easy build except the struts needed some work, The pins that hold them to wings wouldn’t line up with pins.I had to sand the strut ends to get the pins to line up correctly.
EVERYTHING FROM ORDERING TO FLYING AND THEN SOME.
BEST R/C AIRPLANE SUPPLIER I HAVE EVER DELT WITH..BEEN AIRPLANE CRAZY SINCE THE 40's..GOT MY FLYING LICENSE WHEN I GOT 16,NOW 81 AND STILL LOVE IT..
I’m going to maiden this beauty tomorrow. Motion was quick on the shipping as always. This is a very high quality plane for what I’ve seen from eflite recently. The battery tray is a nice touch, and the foam/paint is better than other eflite models I have. The biggest downfall are the decals bubbling off the entire plane. Looks like a child applied them. Not Motion’s fault. Whoever let them come from the factory like that should be ashamed. Assembly is super simple except for the struts. If you aren’t patient you could cause damage getting the pins in the struts. Once the pins finally go in, they are easier the next time. Not sure why you would take the wings off. considering it’s smaller size.
motion is awesome
I will start by saying that I have not received my Pitts yet. I ordered it about 1 hour ago and I just received notice that it's been shipped. It took less then 1 hour!!! I love Motion for it's service, but this is incredible?!!
I maidened the new Eflite Pitts today, and its a winner. Definitely not a beginners model, even with AS3X, you have to stay ahead of it, just like the full scale. Flew great on a 3c 2200, had more than enough power, flew at 1/2 throttle most of the time and still has good vertical performance. Roll rate was enough to make you dizzy but it lacks in rudder authority. Battery compartment is roomy and the tray makes it easy to get batteries in and out. Landings are hot, definitely have to keep the power on and fly it all the way to the ground. It has probably the best foam and paint ive seen on a model. Its very dense and heavier than I would expect. Must have, 2 thumbs up.
