TechOne Air Titan with LED Lights 1600mm (63") Wingspan - PNP - TEC0880003P-LED
The TechOne Air Titan is one of our most versatile and fun to fly RC airplanes. This is the LED version of the popular Air Titan which means there are hundreds of bright, colorful LEDs embedded in the wings and fuselage. Not only do the LEDs look great, they also allow you to fly the Air Titan in low light or even total darkness (Note: night flying is recommended for intermediate to advanced pilots).
The Air Titan's large wingspan, high-wing configuration, and durable metal landing gear make it an ideal trainer aircraft for beginner pilots. But this is not just a great trainer, the TechOne Air Titan's powerful motor and solid construction means it can handle advanced aerobatics and more aggressive flying techniques. You can even use the Air Titan to tow your favorite glider to high altitudes using the included servo-controlled tow hook.
Multiple landing equipment options is another reason why the Air Titan is one of our most popular aircraft. The kit includes large wheels perfect for grass or pavement. If you want to fly off of water, there is an optional float set available with working rudders so you can easily takeoff and land on any pond or lake. And the fun doesn't need to stop in the Winter since TechOne also has an Air Titan snow ski set available.
The main wing can also be removed to make it easier to transport the Air Titan. Made of light yet durable EPO foam with a high wing and rugged tri-gear, the Air Titan is tailor-made for anyone wanting a large-size trainer with the versatility to fly on pavement, grass, water or snow. The TechOne Air Titan is a high wing trainer that is perfect for learning how to fly.
The wing, tail and gear are easily removable for transport. Made of light yet durable EPO foam with a high wing and rugged tri-gear, the Air Titan is tailor-made for anyone wanting a decent-sized capable trainer for flight training. This version comes pre-installed with an LED light package for exciting night flight adventures!
Tech Note: The LED lights on the Air Titan require a 12V power source. If you want to use your 4S flight battery as a power source for the LEDs, make sure you use a voltage regulator to convert your battery's 16.8V down to 12V. If you don't have a voltage regulator, you can simply plug the LED lights into a spare 3S (3 cell) LiPo battery.
- Hundreds of bright LED lights pre-installed for thrilling night flight adventures

Tech One Air Titan LED Lights 63" wingspan
Overall I really like the plane. I'd rather have the hatch on top for Battery changes. It's a pain to flip it. Also I use a 3S for the lights and it would be nice if it would fit in the battery compartment. I made a lead 6 oz block that fits on the front of the firewall and it flies great that way! Super fun flaps. Aerobatic enough for me! Unfortunately the motor started making a grating sound on the 9th flight. Not happy about that. Everything else I'm quite happy with!
This is the second of this aircraft. The first one the motor failed on start up, also the release hook did not work. Sent that one back. The second one the motor failed on the first flight. The battery hatch lever broke at first use.
Very bright lites.
Got 8 flites before crashing. The manual was for non led version. This made It difficult to assemble without proper instructions. 5 of the flites was with the sun down. Lost visual orientation on the last flight. I would recommend a 3 axis stabilization. system. I am thinking of trying it next 4th of July if available.
Haven't flown this plane yet looks good tail wheel is cheap (don't think it will last) went to gather pretty good had a bad rudder servo . Motion RC has great service and replaced it without question . I Will keep doing business with them they're a great company
i posted one review earlier, think it need,s another! fort those that think it,s tail heavy the cg is figured for battery in front to run light,s i put a 1300kv 3cell in front Velcro in balance perfect! fly,s real nice.if you don,t want to run the light,s then you will have to weigh a 3 cell 1300 kv battery and add some weight to front to make cg perfect.this plane fly,s very nice.that info should have been in description put it,s not.so if you want a slow or fast flying plane this one is a good one! back wheel bracket is weak but you can fix if breaks with glue,i have still on lol! mine was broke in shipping i fixed it holding up so far,but i do like the light,s on water!
Very Nice ButTail Heavy
Plane is very nice and provides a lot of **** for the buck. The only real complaint is that it is extremely tail heavy. Specs list flying weight at 5.41 lbs (2450 g). Using a Admiral 4S 4000 the weight is 5.75 lbs and it takes another 4.5 oz ( 127 g) to balance at the recommended rear CG of 95mm. This brings the total flying weight to over 6 lbs. I have made no mods to the plane and I am not using floats. Have yet to maiden but suspect the additional 1/2 lbs of weight will hamper performance. Will post the results later.
Several weak points
Overall the plane looks good, the CG with 3600 battery is very tail heavy. Battery cover latch is junk broke the first time I used the cover. The tail wheel plastic bracket is also a poor design and soon to fail. I looked at the spar parts for the Titan and the tail wheel brackets are out of stock. I do not recommend this plane to my friends. The product shipped very quick and was received in just a few days well packaged and damage free. MotionRC employees are good folks and responded to my chat inquires very fast. The two star rating is for the plane, I give MotionRC a five for customer service.
A Note for Float Flyers
This is an update to my original review of 04/11/17. I just put the plane on floats and discovered it is very tail heavy. A week ago I paid $60 Cdn. for a BEC to run the LED lights before finding out that a 3 cell Lipo which weighs about 6.5 oz. is just the correct weight to trim out this plane. I put that battery in the upper compartment of the fuselage ahead of the wing. I velcro'd the battery to the side of the fuse and put it as far ahead as I could with my fat fingers. Now of course the BEC is unnecessary as the 3 cell will do the job. Unfortunately all this weight hampers some of the performance of the plane but it still is fast and handles well but doesn't climb like it would without the extra weight. Overall I'm still satisfied with the plane but disappointed at the waste of $60 for a BEC that I special ordered and can't take back. Hopefully I'll find a use somewhere for it. This plane now lives on my boat and I can assemble it in 5 minutes and be flying. The float set is tough and you can pick up the whole plane with one hand on the front leg of one of the floats when reaching down to pull it out of the water. This makes flying from a boat quite easy. So, as a final note, if you're thinking of buying this plane and putting it on floats you might as well get the LED version because you'll need the battery weight up there anyway. (At least from my experience)
A lot for the money!
This plane is very good value. It looks great when assembled and flies very nicely, allowing the pilot a relaxed time. My only real complaint is the tail wheel which other folks have pointed out as well. On the maiden flight I had a beautiful soft landing and the plane was scooting along with all wheels down until she hit one of the many humps a bumps on our runway which promptly caused her to head for the weeds at which point I put in hard right rudder which promptly sheered off the tail wheel. When the replacement comes I will reinforce it in some manner before flying on the wheels again. Oh, and the LED lights look fabulous, I couldn't be happier with them. Will be running mine off a BEC, Y'd off the battery plug. All in all this is a plane definitely worth having. Would be a five except for the tail wheel. In addition I added a short piece of tygon tubing to each push pull rod where the fork joins the servo horn, just because the screws that are provided don't seem to be enough. Can't wait to try this on floats. One kind person suggested using a balloon to make a waterproof bladder over the servos on the floats. I bought some black balloons and rigged it up. Seems to work well. Thank you!
