Truly a beautiful plane fly's like a true WARBIRD
Excellent model, beautiful finish.
Best Ever Twin 70mm Scale EDF Jet Warbird!
Where can you find better foam scale Me-262 EDF jet? Nowhere, eh! This is it! ;) Not just looks good, flies good too! Up to know no nasty behaviour, plenty of power from this 2nd version, nice landing gears, like the plastic skid inserts too. I tend to use Admiral LiPos even in my RC trucks, cars, etc. I like them so much, .. if they are available.. :) I love the jet-like sound of the new 12 blade EDFs, for me: no need any sound kit! Long story short: I just LOVE it! Wish you clear skies & happy flying! Cheers, Capt. N.
BEST EVER twin 70mm EDF jet scale bird of the Warbirds Series!
Not just looks amazing, but flies amazing too! Oh Yeah! :) The whole thing is just done right! So scale, when it is up in the air, you can not tell it's an RC plane. Really wide flying envelope, can fly slow, can fly fast.. also good landing gears. Also as per reports for other pilots it's very nice and easy to fly, no nasty behaviour reported.. :) I only use the Admiral LiPos when flying, so you have the power when you need it! (Actually I use them also in my RC trucks, cars, etc. because they are holding charge and performing so well!) The sound is just awesome from the V2, really sound like a real jet.. I just LOVE it! Highly recommended for any EDF and/or warbird lover! Wish you clear skies & Happy Flying! Cheers, Capt. N.
ME262 Followup Item
An additional item since my initial review - I’ve had cases of the nose gear not fulling coming down in preps for landing. The result of this is a landing with the nose gear half down which doesn’t damge anything or a go-around which is a bad idea (I’ve done it and had 8% battery left). I found that the gear door for the nose gear is acting like an air brake with a lot of force on the gear while lowering. If I get the flaps down first and slow the jet down, this is not a problem.
ME262 - A docile flier that looks great in the air.
The build was simple but I did reinforce the nose with carbon fiber running through the fuse into the nose. I did this based on feedback from others. Using a 50C 6s 5000 all the way forward, the takeoff run in grass was brief. The jet was a little jumpy in aileron but smoothed out nicely with less rate and more expo for the next flight. I’ll share my settings if anyone wants them. The jet is quick but not overly so. Surprisingly, the sound is less impressive than my other twelve blade jets (90mm Super Scorpion and 80mm Avante S). Sounds good but not great. The timer was set at three min. At one minute, I set up for landing. The approach and landing were uneventful. It slows nicely. On both flights, the batteries were at 17% so a go around would have been a bad idea. This is a nice jet. Well built and an attention getter at the field.
Solid, predictable jet.
5 flights on mine now. No surprises on how it handles. Nice speed. Flaps don’t need a mix. As with any jet, but maybe more so with one that is not slippery and has more frontal area like this one, keep throttle up on approach. Nice twin jet. Easy to assemble. Easy to see and orient with its unique configuration. Has nice wide mains... no tipping when taxiing.
It has been years sine I flew the 262, but now that I only have my go to fleet of birds, I really missed the 262. Flight characteristics are solid and flies on rails, fit & finish of the new yellow is one of the best amount Freewing products. The only issues you have to address is this is not a slow flight bird due to tip stalling, just need to keep the speed up. The other minor issue is to reinforce the fuse along the batt bay and nose wheel, very easily done with cf rods. This is amoung the top five edf’s freewing offers.
