E-flite Commander mPd 55" - (Plug-N-Play) - PNP - EFL4875

Another nice offering from E-flite that has the Flight Boys at Motion RC excited about is the E-flite Commander mPd.  With its expansive flight envelope that supports stable, slow flight characteristics that favors pilots newer to the hobby, the Commander mPd also displays great aerobatic capability for those with more stick time under their belts. The 15 size motor will allow Commander will reach speeds in excess of 70mph.

The profile is a unique blend of classic and contemporary lines.  The wing does away with pesky servo leads so plugging in or removing the wings couldn't be easier for transport.  Takeoffs and landings are easy affairs with the included flaps.

With a light wing load and powerful 15-sized brushless motor and 45 amp ESC, the sky's the limit with potential.  The Commander mPd features nice scale appeal including ribbing on the wings and elevator, fuel caps, panel lines and a pilot (hey somebody has to fly the plane!).

The Commander mPd has the ability to take a wide range of 3 Cell LiPo batteries.  From 2200 mAh all the way up to 3200 mAh.  The entire assembly is possible with just 12 screws.  8 screws for the assembly and 4 screws to plug in or remove the wings.

So whether you are an advanced pilot looking for an aerobatic performer with a wide flight envelope, newer to the hobby or even in the hunt for a sleek and unique new offering, the E-flite Commander mPd covers all the bases!

  • Unique design features a blend of classic and contemporary lines

Very Unstable Flight

Stripped rudder servo on first landing. Very weak servos. Replaced with HiTec servo. Second flight I assume stripped right aileron servo in flight as I lost control and it rolled in. Flew without AS3X reciever and it was a handfull. Very sorry I bought this.

Poor Servos - E-flight Commander

See my previous review of 8/8/2018. One Aileron Servo failed resulting in crash landing and significant damage. While I still like this plane, I HIGHLY recommend upgrading servos. I realize this may add significantly to the cost of ownership: Avoid the heartbreak and put in some good quality MG servos before the stock ones fail. If you do a little research you will find I am not the only one with this experience.

Commander mPd

I maidened the Commander this a.m. at my local AMA field. I set all the throws according to the manual. I used a 2650 mAh 3S battery. Balance was pretty much at the recommended CG in the manual. I needed just a bit of up elevator and a tad of right aileron. Flew great. The rolls were spot on with little change in altitude(really suprised me there). As for landings, this plane really likes to glide so set up for landing at some distance. This was all w/o flaps. Coasted for quite a long distance. Second landing with 1/2 flaps went better. This plane is a keeper!

Comander PNP - GREAT PLANE!

Shipped quickly. Well packed. Easy assembly. Everything fit well. First flight required just one click of down elevator to trim. This plane is extremely well behaved. I transitioned from the FMS Super EZ to the Commander. I'm flying with no gyro. I used an Admiral 3000-3S battery. CG right about 92mm. This plane practically flies itself! But it goes where you point it. It has a great combination of smoothness and aerobatic capability. (Not 3D). There have been reports of servo failures. I will replace with MG servos when needed. I think the power is adequate for this design and intended purpose. This airplane looks stupendous in flight and is very well designed, both mechanically and aerodynamically. (I'm and Aerospace Engineer fwiw.) IHMO those two things makes it worth every penny of the asking price.

E-flight Commander

This is a great airplane. Like the instructions say, keep speed on approach to landing. Very maneuverable.

Commander

The ESC heats up alarmingly due to the lack of cooling air. The internal fuselage chamber has no outflow venting I am looking at cutting 2 vents adjacent to the pilot on the cockpit cowl which is not a structural component. Down here in Charleston SC it gets into the 90's and I have to wait for the esc to cool. I'm sure that the mod will help cool the engine and battery also. Will let you know if the modification works.Chris Barnes misteretops@yahoo.com (retired airline engineer) Its a fun airplane but had to make a rugged landing gear and bigger wheels to cope with our grass field.Ditched the pants too!

Super Ship

This is a great aircraft right out of the box. It can do all the maneuvers like a 3-D ship and yet slow down and fly like a trainer! It's also very stable, relaxing and FUN to fly. If you want to make yours a super-great plane, convert it to use a 4-cell battery upgrading it from the 3-cell set-up it ships with. Keep the stock motor just replace the stock ESC with about a 60amp one that can handle a 4-cell. With this set up you will have a real vertical world-****** rocket.

The planes very well made The paint doesn't peel after handling it..I swapped the servos out because they made alot of noise when the plane was stationary on the ground.. she's a floater so make shore you give the flaps a tickle
