The famed B-24 Liberator is one of the most recognizable WWII aircraft of all time. Serving in every theater of that global conflict, the B-24 fought to bring its brave crews home through unimaginable danger. With humility and reverence, Motion RC is proud to introduce the world’s first foam electric PNP B-24 Liberator, in remembrance of the crews who gave the ultimate sacrifice and those who carry on its memory. The FlightLineB-24 Liberator is approximately 1/16.7 scale, with a 2000mm wingspan and 1230mm length, and is constructed from EPO foam and reinforced with integrated aluminum, carbon fiber, plywood, and plastic structures. Designed with input from the Collings Foundation, which operates the only flying B-24-J, “Witchcraft”.
Due to the many configurations of the real B-24, the model features modular design to allow each modeler to customize his/her model further. A magnetic nose section allows owners to quickly swap between B-24 variants, the -D (“Greenhouse” nose), and the -J (“Emerson turret” nose), and the Upper Turret on both variants and the Nose Turret on the -J variant can be panned with an optional 9g servo. Steerable tillers are pre-installed, including special provisions to fit FPV cameras in the nose with minimal modification. Waist gunner windows are left uninstalled, giving pilots the option to detail the interior and/or depict a variant with or without the windows installed. An internal wooden spine reinforces the bomb bay area, if a modeler chooses to install operating doors. An all new pilot figure sculpt depicts period accurate A-2 crew jacket, radio headset, and iconic “crusher” cap and insignia. Also for the first time at Motion RC, an optional 3D-Printed Cockpit with complete instrument panel, controls, and seats is also available as a separately purchasable upgrade.

Despite its very large size, primary assembly of the entire aircraft is completed with only 12 screws; glue is only required for cosmetic details such as antennas and windows. A quick disconnect ribbon wire harness consolidates wiring into a central circuit board inside the fuselage. Each wing is removable with two screws, making this large aircraft extremely easy to transport.
The FlightLine B-24 uses four 3530-860kv brushless outrunner motors, 30A ESCs, 9.5 x 7 counter-rotating propellers, and a separate 5A UBEC. The recommended pair of 4s 14.8v 3000-4000mAh lipo batteries can power the aircraft in excess of 110kph/70mph, for 5-10 minutes based on a pilot’s throttle management. We prefer mid-throttle cruising for 7+ minutes of scale-style flying. The outboard motor pair and inboard motor pair are powered by separate flight batteries, allowing for powered landings in the event of one battery losing a cell. A 70mm tall nose wheel and 85mm tall main wheels provide stable operation on grass runways and split flaps aid in low speed flight and landings.
Each model includes both the -D and -J nose in the box, and includes two decal sets comprising both waterslide and matte vinyl decals. Additional decal sets are available for purchase from our partner, Callie Graphics, at www.callie-graphics.com. A main suspension strut is available as an upgrade for rough runways. - September 11, 2018 - The FlightLine RC 2000mm B-24's recommended battery is the 4S 3000-4000. However, the model can also be flown on 3S 5000 at a higher throttle setting. Users must take care to verify their CG still hits the manual's recommended range.

Can't get parts
Love the airplane but due to a botched landing I need new wings. Been waiting 4 months now and still no parts in stock. Would really like to get this thing back in the air.
Hey Dennis from PA. I had the same problem with 3 of the retracts, the problem and solution was posted on my comments in the Hobby Squawk thread. The pin may protrude too far down in the trunion impeding the screws drive midway during retract. Remove the pin and sand it down so it is flush with the bottom of the trunion, works like a dream then. This is a problem with other retracts as well.
B-24M “Net Results”
Love the looks of this B-24. The plane went together well, no problems building. Added the shock absorbing main gears - they look great and work great. The shock absorbency gears seem to help alleviate prop strikes on landing as I have yet to break a prop – knock on wood. Had Callie Graphics make up a set for a B 24 named “Net Results” that flew from Okinawa in 1945. I find that the plane flys a bit on the fast side of scale at half throttle - definitely not a floater. Also, I have found that she had a rather extended turning radius (sometime requires a 90 degree bank to keep the plane in close - especially setting up for final approaches). BUT - it’s a B-24 and it looks great. Maybe some more stick time and I’ll be more comfortable with her (My favorite is still the F7F Tigercat - can’t beat that bird)1

Easy to assemble. What with no doors front landing gear? Takes off the grass nice. Looks great with blue sky's. The suns reflection off the wings is nice. 4 stars over all.
RETRACTS AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM
I have had a chance to look at 2 retract units for the B-24 that were replaced. Both with the same problem . They hang up/lock up in the cycle especially on the upward cycle, The screw shaft has some slop in the system. It is a conventional screw jack system but there are a few problems with these.The screw has a lot of float as the front gear and back shaft points are not very secure and relies on a free floating spacer threaded to hold the screw shaft in position . The rear spacer has a threaded hole for the screw to pass through. I cleaned up the threads on them..Also the retaining holes in both case sides have a lot of friction resistance in the fit of the gear rotating block . This also may cause the screw shaft to buckle and lose contact with the drive gear. I'm not an engineer but I did open the case holes very very slightly and made the L/G shaft retention piece firmly attached to the case and lightly greased the screw. So far it seem to work well. Perhaps Motion can get Freewing to do a fix on this problem. Otherwise the B-24 is really a great flying model .
Why not get both the Olive and Silver!!
This is a great plane. I now have 4 FlightLine planes, the Olive Liberator, the 1600mm Spitfire and the 90mm Stinger jet, all outstanding products. I was looking for a silver B-17, but didn't like the available products comparing it with my Olive B-24, so bought the silver one, added a little extra paint, Callie's decals, the suspension struts, Mr. RC Sound card and redid the cockpits and top & front turrets with the 3D parts and added servos. Hooked the sound card up to the opposite battery as the BEC. These planes are real eye catchers at the field. If you want to fly scale, turn with the rudder and opposite ailerons to keep it flat, or you can still fly it light a "fighter" and do loops, rolls, Cuban 8's and it climbs with the best of them. Get 8-10 minutes on the 4S 4000's and has plenty of power and cruises at 50%-60% throttle. It tracks straight on take-off and lands like a dream, just keep enough power coming in to land smoothly. The speakers and sound card fit a little tight (see my post on Hobby Squak-Liberator thread #1037 and video under #1168 if interested). A flight video of the Olive is in my thread #1181. There are plenty of customizing opportunities, so have at it. Just wish FlightLine would re-introduce a B-17 in this same size with similar finishes and components as the B-24. This is one plane that you should consider getting both versions.
