**** and it works
Needs to be put on very thin and sanded very gently or else it just flakes off. I wasn't able to make my plane look like brand new like I was hoping, but it held strong, smoothed good enough and returned my plane to the air in fine order.
I have not used this product yet, but have had very good results with Beacon's FoamTac glue.
Great stuff, works great AAA+++
Found it works well I thinned with isoproypl and put light coats on with foam brush drys well sand lightly good product
It's just ok, found it
It's just ok, found it hard to spread without globs, and VERY HARD TO SAND.
Excellent EPO Foam repair material
This stuff is great for fixing dents, wrinkles, and Alligator'd areas. Thins nicely with Windex and is sandable, or can be used un-thinned to build up damaged areas, but you have to let it dry until it's completely hardened and then very lightly. It does shrink a bit, so sometimes it may require several layers. Works great on both EPO and EPS foam Highly recommend having this stuff on your work bench for repairs!!!
I'm with Tim on this
I experimented with this on a FMS B25. The material was thick but spread okay. Problem was it shrinks. I applied thin coats once a day. It dried tacky and did not sand well. Kinda rolled into little balls. The ***** I was trying to fill kept reappearing because of the shrinkage. It also did not spread as well of the next coats. I don't have an opinion yet if it strengthens the foam which to me would be the only justification for its use. 3 dollar light spackling from DAP can be applied thicker, drys fast, doesn't seem to shrink and can easily be sanded. I usually complete the job in one coat with that.
Works as advertised
Works well as a sandable, paintable coating. On elapor, will adhere better if you wipe the foam with alcohol or mineral spirits first.
This product is in now way sandable.
Not sure how/why folks are giving this one 5 stars..I didnt even want to give it 1. I bought this to refinish an FMS P-47. Ive had a think layer applied for 2 days now, and it has dried to a consistency of dried Elmers white glue..peels right off..and certainly cant be sanded! Need to do some masking while paint? forget about that too, peels right off with the masking tape. may be good for fixing a dent here and there, but certainly dont try this stuff to refinish and repaint a plane.
