The elevator was totally warped, needed reïnforcement by kevlar spars. Wings currved and bended. Looks like Dynam doesn’t have any quality control. Suberb RC motion transaction, but raher a low profile product.
I maidened my Devil today. Despite a slightly warded vertical stab, she flies great. Needed to add just a touch of down elevator trim and she was ripping up the sky. vertical like you wouldnt believe. On the second flight of the day, is where things got interesting. My title says Tough little bird. Thats because I had a mid air with a .40 size balsa trainer. At the impact, which was LOUD, I just dropped my eyes because I knew my foamy was vapor, but when I looked up again, Guess which one landed more or less intact. Yep. My dynam Devil The impact severed the right wing panel from the trainer and then it augured in. The cowl was destroyed as was the prop on my Devil, but I was able to turn around and dead stick land. Theres a couple big dents in the upper wing, and a small chunk missing from both upper and lower, but other than that she is intact and will fly again. Im going to replace the upper wing just because and repair the lower. The balsa trainer, well, it will be months before it flies again.
Not only we’re the parts extremely warped out of the box making it more difficult than it should to assemble, but the rudder servo was stripped out as well. Haven’t even flown yet considering it hit the bench before the air. Had to order another servo. Your welcome motion
Beautiful plane and color scheme, very easy to see in the sky. Plenty of power for 3D and aerobatic flight. Took about 3 hours to build. I didn't use the the included instructions as they were not that detailed and the build wasn't that complicated. This is my 4th Dynam plane - you really cannot beat the value. Looking forward to many more fun flights.
I maidened a Dynam Devil and a Multiplex EasyGlider 4 on the same day, and I want to compare both the building and first flight experience. Devil build: The Devil comes with one page of instructions with small hard to see black and white pictures with brief instructions. I combed through all the threads about the Devil to determine what modifications should be made. I reinforced the motor mount, swapped out the servos for Hitec servos, used carbon fiber tubes to stiffen the weak servo linkages, and used longer screws instead of the inadequate microscopic ones Dynam supplies. I also secured the mid-hatch with magnets instead of gluing it down as stated in the manual (you will regret it if you do). I carefully balanced and set the throws according to the instructions. Easyglider 4 build: The Easyglider 4 comes with a detailed manual in four languages, complete with assembly pictures and exploded diagrams identifying every single piece. I was really just assembly. All the pieces fit together very well. The wings can be removed easily for transport. The only negative I found was my receiver would not bind using the supplied ESC. I swapped out the ESC and the problem was resolved. I carefully balanced and set the throws according to the instructions. My experience with the Multiplex Arcomaster was largely the same. Maiden day: The Easyglider 4 took less than 5 minutes to put the wings on. It is designed to be easy to do. On launch, the Easyglider 4 flew out of my hand and climbed. With all the control surfaces aligned correctly, the plane flew straight as an arrow and required no trimming. Devil: The Devil took off, and the second I let up on up elevator, it promptly buried itself on the pavement, damaged beyond repair. I found this happened because the elevator is curved due to **** poor quality control. To be fair, I do have a couple of Chinese planes that fly well. But before ever considering another Chinese made plane, I will comb RC Groups for comments on quality. Chinese is cheaper in initial price versus the German planes, but far more expensive in terms of frustration. I have had enough.
Very fun and easy to fly
I start by saying I have bought many planes and accessories from Motion and I will continue to do so...this review is no reflection upon Motion. The plane itself was a lemon. The wings and rear stab had a tremendous warp. There were missing screws. The pushrods were an inch too short. After a quick call to Motion the plane was returned for full credit. Thanks Motion for standing behind your product as you always do.
after 5 months of flying(Almost every day), a few bad landings(Crash) and a motor that was starting to not run, the cost of parts was almost as much as a new plane, so I ordered a new plane. (see my post below in Feb/17) Built up the same as Original one and used the same receiver(out of Ultimate, with SAFE)in very same placement. NOW it feels completely different in the air! and as soon As I pick up speed the Elevators goes up and down madly, I have had the same problem in the 1100 Corsair with SAFE If I put it back in original Devel it does not do this! Any suggestions ?
