The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter aircraft primarily used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the Second World War. The Tempest was an improved derivative of the Hawker Typhoon. It emerged as one of the most powerful fighters used during the war. Take to the skies with one of Dynam's latest offerings, the Hawker Tempest 1250mm RTF. Includes retracts, a GAVIN-6A 6-Channel 2.4GHz Transmitter, Detrum MSR66A 6-Channel 2.4Ghz Mini Receiver with iStone 6-Axis Gyro/ABS and 4S 14.8V 2200 mAh LiPo Battery, and she's ready for those pesky Axis bandits!
The manual calls for a CG 55mm to 60mm from the leading edge. We find 70mm to 75mm a much better CG. We put an Admiral 4S 2200 all the way forward and did not add any weight. The Tempest flew great in this configuration. We needed little to no elevator to fly inverted and the elevator surface was completely neutral on the ground.

Product didn’t come with everything it was supposed to come with, and was missing parts. Had to go to local hobby shop to complete the initial build; little upsetting.
The plane looks really nice! I love this plane! It rips around up there and shakes up the adrenaline a bit. Sometimes the retracts need a prayer to come down...just sayin. I recommend the LED controller to make the lights functional. The wing needs to be evened out and dry fit before you set your glue down. Protruding piece of foam on one side near the wing spar needs a razor trim. Other than that I am extremely impressed with how it looks and flies! We had two rough landings (windy conditions) she survived both with minor dings. Solid purchase for the money.
Dynam Hawker tempest
This plane is very nice looking and well built, I got this 2nd hand off a friend who bought it here. He said he could not get it to fly from our grass field, Always noses over on takeoff and landing. Ok, I take this plane and rake the gear out about a 1/2 in. and using a dremal tool with a sanding wheel to open the wheel wells forward in the lower wing. using several different battery sizes, and placements of the batteries,( thinking this will solve the problem). NOPE. This plane STILL noses over in a heartbeat, I have tried all the tricks that I know to remedy this, But even I cannot get this plane off a grass field, As soon as the tail comes up on rollout,,Wham!,,Noseover.. And if you do get it off the ground, on landing, Wham!, Noseover,,, I cannot figure this one out, And I am very experienced, At this point I am at a loss as to why this plane is like this. I keep trying , If I come up with something I will let you all know. BTW, Never had any problems with the retracts, other then they take about 10 seconds to work.
NICE PLANE BUT!
THIS IS A GREAT PLANE FOR THE MONEY(LOVE THE TEMPESTS) BUT AS ALWAYS IT SEEMS WITH THE DYNAMS RETRACTS ONLY WORK A FEW TIMES IF THAT THEN YOU HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER SET FROM SOME OTHER BRAND AND MESS UP YOUR BEAUTIFUL NEW WINGS AND MAKE THE NEW RETRACTS FIT. DYNAM DOES GIVE YOU A LOT OF PLANE FOR THE MONEY,YOU JUST HAVE TO WORK ON THEM A LITTLE MORE. MOTION RC IS FINE WITH ME : )
