E-flite Cherokee 51.5" - (Receiver Ready) - PNP - EFL5475

Another nice offering from E-flite that has the Flight Boys at Motion RC excited about is the E-flite Cherokee.  The E-flite Cherokee celebrates the classic design of the legendary full-scale PA-28 with an accurate outline, a long list of scale details, modern-day convenience features, plus fantastic power and flight performance that makes flying fun.  An abundance of scale details including panel lines, rivets, corrugated control surfaces, a pilot figure and more highlight the authentic appearance, while functional features including factory-installed LED lights, a shock-absorbing nose strut and large wheels add to the flight experience.

The plug-in wing panels are equipped with a convenient hands-free servo connection system and include operational slotted flaps for shorter take offs and landings, plus improved slow-flight handling.  No glue is required for assembly of the lightweight, carbon-fiber reinforced EPO airframe so you can be flying in less time than it takes to charge a battery.  An extremely large top hatch offers easy access to the electronics and the battery mounting area with plenty of space to fit a 3S or 4S 2200–3200mAh battery, while the high-power brushless motor and 50-amp ESC deliver better-than-scale power.  It all adds up to a scale marvel that delivers incredible handling and fantastic flight performance for shooting smooth touch and goes, rock-solid low and high speed cruising, and even for performing aerobatics—all in a single model that you’ll be proud to own.

Features:

  • A scale replica of a modern general-aviation classic
  • Incredibly smooth flight performance making it the perfect choice for a first low-wing or scale model
  • High-power 3S and 4S compatible brushless motor and 50-amp ESC
  • Abundant scale detail including panel lines, rivets, corrugated control surfaces, pilot figure and more
  • Functional shock-absorbing nose strut and large wheels for operation from a variety of surfaces

Great model but watch out!

E-flite is making some very well engineered models. I call them the E-flite trilogy. The Commander, the Cirrus SR22T and now the Cherokee. I have all three from Motion RC. They are all in the same price range and they all fly great! I had,However, one very serious issue with the new Cherokee. The model is the only one of the three and the first model I have owned with a flying stab. The otherwise fine assembly manual clearly lists CG, and control throws but I could find no mention on how to set up the orientation of the flying stab. I tried to set it up with the same orientation of the main wing. This resulted in an almost disastrous madden flight. The model went straight up! With full down elevator I could not prevent it from going up. With the combination of full down elevator, throttle manipulation and my great flying skills, I was able to bring it in and safely land it with no damage. After I sat down and regained my composure, I carefully inspected the model. I discovered that on the side of the fuselage near the leading edge of the stab a very faint line. I determined that this was not a panel line but a guide mark showing where to set up the neutral position of the leading edge of the stab. After resetting the stab to this mark, the model now flies fine. This is a very important part of the set up process and should be clearly explained in the manual. One last point. Keep the throw rate on the flying stab very low. It is a big control surface and can be over controlled. Keep the dirty side down, Norm

Cherokee People!!!

The red trim on the plane is now painted gold with a more scale looking registration number!!....and of course...that goofy looking pilot was replaced with a way nicer one!!.....Replaced the foamers with rubber dubros wheels & tires....and it has a couple coats of Minwax!!!...Using Admiral 4s 3000mah packs....Good ship for performing circuits v& bumps!!!

An AWESOME model.

As the others have said, ITS NOT A BEGINNERS PLANE. She's fairly fast with 3 cells, and I haven't tried 4 yet, but I'm sure she's a rocket. She has a rather LARGE P-factor too. She will go of the runway if your not correcting. I know. In the air, once trimmed, she's a joy. If your looking for a 3rd model that grabs attention, this is it.

What a Plane to Fly Once when you get the Stabilator in the Neutral Position.

Very Very Impressed with the Over all Design and Finish of this Plane! Thought it would have the Flight Characteristic of the T-28 Trojan but its Quite a bit Different in that its alot Heavier than the Parkzone t-28 so it Requires alot more Runway if you do a No Flaps Take off. Plus it has Huge P-Factor Torgue Roll especially on Take off so Stay on that Right Rudder People...and it will take you a few try,s out to Get that Stabilator Adjusted for Neutral Level Flying! Motion Rc was Great and Fast as usual...Overall Very Pleased with this Purchase...

PNP Cherokee 1.3 meter

Because of it's FLYING ELEVON-(one piece elevator) this aircraft is EXTREMELY sensitive in PITCH---Be sure to set all elevator trims at Zero at trim mark on the right rear of the fuselage before first takeoff!!!!! On approaches and low turns use rudder and extra speed to GREASE EVERY LANDING!!!!!!Bring down rates on elevator after initial flights......Rudder is also VERY EFFECTIVE!!!!!!THAT being said---This airplane is awesome, with enough power and agility to get you OUT OF TROUBLE!!! fun to fly and Very scale and BEAUTIFUL in the air!!!Landing gear is ROBUST,and after about 30 flights i have no issues!!!! GREAT BUY--GREAT PLANE!!!!! DEFINITELY---NOT--FOR---BEGINNERS!!!!

PNP Cherokee 1.3 meter

Aircraft is VERY pitch sensitive, rate on elevator NEEDS to be adjusted on radio.probably because the WHOLE elevator MOVES!!! When assembling, note the MARK on the right side of fuselage to ZERO the elevator in.Beside that issue-This plane FLIES GREAT!!!Carry SPEED on approaches and low turns and you'll GREASE EVERY LANDING!!!!GREAT PRODUCT---NOT FOR BEGINNERS!!!!
