At Motion RC we offer our customers a diverse selection of seaplanes but none of them quite as unique as this exhilarating, incredibly fun and rewarding ICON A5 by E-flite.  Take to your local pond, lake or shore and unleash pure flying enjoyment.  The ICON A5 comes with removable landing gear so this aircraft is at home both by land and by sea. The guys at Motion RC highly recommend the optional nose light kit for an even better flying experience. Additionally, we highly recommend either the BNF version of this plane or the purchase of a gyro to prevent tail wag. This is a great flying and highly recommend model with simply 3 axis stabilization to prevent tail wag.

A Sea Plane with Removable Landing Gear

If you prefer to takeoff and land on water, simply remove the landing gear. If you prefer to takeoff and land on grass, landing gear is included in the box. The wheels are perfect for pavement but not large enough for grass takeoff and landings.

Big Battery Hatch with Cockpit Details

The entire cockpit section is magnetically secured and easily removed for unfettered access to the model’s spacious battery compartment. The cockpit itself boasts a tinted windshield, painted pilot figure, seatbacks and an instrument panel.

Durable Z-Foam™ Airframe

The airframe is constructed of tough Z-Foam material that is inherently water resistant and can handle the demands of amphibious flying.

Great stable plane

Great stable plane

Fun Seaplane

I have the Flyzone Beaver and E-flite Timber, so this is my third seaplane. I have a nice pond not far from my home which is surrounded by greenbelt and trees. This one is incredibly easy to put together...I think I had it complete in 30 minutes or so. It's a lot of fun to scoot around...I bought the PNP version and while it's a stable airplane generally speaking, it could benefit from a gyro as the wings do like to waggle in any kind of wind. If you fly at a lake or very large pond then the lack of flaps isn't an issue but my pond isn't the largest so I would have really liked flaps with this one. No water rudders so you have to get on the throttle a bit for the rudder to effectively turn on the water. Watch the wing tipping due to torque factors but after a couple times it's easy to negotiate. My biggest con would be that it's pretty noisy at full throttle. Prop is balanced, it's just the nature of the design and power system I assume. Still a lot of fun to fly!
