E-flite Valiant 53" BNF Basic with AS3X Stabilization - BNF - EFL4950

One of the many things the Flight Boys at Motion RC are really excited about with this new offering from E-flite is it's classic high wing stature with sporty lines that not only favors pilots newer to the hobby thanks to the revolutionary stabilization technology AS3X® and SAFE® Select Flight Mode, but has sport plane capability for those with more stick time under their belts.

The sporty profile and larger control surfaces affords a wider flight envelope than what you might find with traditional high wing model aircraft.  With a light wing load and powerful 480-sized brushless motor, the sky's the limit with potential.  The Valiant includes working flaps to practice those slow takeoffs, touch-and-go's and landings in minimal space requirements.

The Variant has the ability to take a wide range of 3 Cell LiPo batteries.  From 1300 mAh all the way up to 3000 mAh.  Float flying your thing?  The Variant can also accept HobbyZone Super Cub floats (sold separately) for those water adventures.  Hardware for the floats is included.

So whether you are an advanced pilot looking for a sporty high wing with a wide flight envelope, newer to the hobby or even in the hunt for a sleek new float plane, the E-flite Valiant covers all the bases!

Great plane, even better with some performance modifications

I bought the Valiant when it first came out and have hours and hours of flight time on this plane and absolutely love it. Have to totally disagree with the reviewer that says you can’t assign SAFE to a two position switch on this plane or any other plane. I have SAFE assigned to a two position switch on my Valiant, E-Flite’s Clipped Wing Cub, and E-Flite’s PT-17 on my DX6 transmitter. I just followed the instructions in the manual and have set up SAFE on other flier’s transmitters using the same two position switch. In each case the two position switch is switch A or the one that is normally assigned for planes that have retractable landing gear. Again, I just followed the instructions in the manual and just kept toggling switch A until the control surfaces did a twitching movement. The manual says to toggle the switch five times, but I just keep doing it until the control surfaces twitch (and maybe a couple times after that). The above aside, if you really want to hop up your Valiant and put a really big smile on your face as a result of the performance, install the following: Install an E-Flite Power 10, 1100 Kv. Up the ESC to a 45A or higher. I have a ZTW Mantis 45A in mine. Put an E-Flite 1.5” aluminum spinner (item # EFLSP150B) on it. Put an APC 10X6E prop on it. Run it with an Admiral Pro 2200Mah 45C battery. Again, I have hours and hours of flight time in on my Valiant with the above set up with no issues at all. Well actually the only issue might be trying to wipe the smile off my face at the end of day after flying this plane with the above set up.

Great build, easy fly

This plane is everything they said it would be. A great, easy, high wing flyer, with plenty of sport and acrobatic skills too. This would be a perfect second plane for beginners, as it flies with the ease of a trainer, but plenty of power for acrobatics as well. Once I finally figured out how to assign a switch for “safe” it quickly became my favorite. This thing floats for landings, with flaps, it literally just floats to the ground. Hint: assigning a switch for safe will work as in the manual but save yourself the headache of trying to assign a two position switch. It just won’t do it. I watched every video, read every article, it just will not do it. Put it on a three position switch and it will do it with no problem. I even went back and assigned my PT—17, and Commander to a tree position switch, they all did it on the first try. Don’t even bother trying a two position, it will not work

Valiant PNP kit

Kit packed and shipped wonderfully. Rear Stab and Rudder assembly screws are hard to get tight. Aircraft flies well with 1/2 flaps.........slowly!! Bottom hatch fell off in flight.

Aircraft purchase

I can't say enough good things about Motion RC. I have never had a bad experience with them and highly doubt that I will. They are extremely customer and service oriented.

Fun Airplane

The Valiant is a Fun-To-Fly airplane and a great BNF. I had it ready to fly in about 30 minutes with the stabilizer ready to fly. Our flight group meet at a lake each Wednesday, and let me tell you the floats are easy to attach to the fuselage. The stabilizer assist me make beautiful landings on the water even in a crosswind.
