Solid Motor but Discontinued
I bought this motor for another ARF bird I'm building since it turns the 4-blade (scale) prop set up I want. FMS 1700mm P51D is the only 4-blade out there unless you want to do custom. This 300Kv motor has been discontinued and replaced with the 340Kv. A little more power but no major difference.
Great choice for 60 class models
I now have 2 of the FMS 1700mm birds running this motor, with great performance. I have installed this motor in a few other projects where a 60 class motor is needed, and it has served me well. Highly recommend!
506 motor for 1700mm P47
Arrived undamaged. Delivered on time. Increased performance over the older motor that was in the model.
I will start by saying that I have all 3 1700mm warbirds. I got 2 of them 18 months ago from a different supplier. they flew good. But I purchased the corsair from MotionRc and wow. it opened up my eyes to how sluggish my first two were. I looked at the motors and and the 2 older ones were red 5060 300Kb, and the corsair's was gold.So I ordered 2 of these.the first one I tested was weak and made a wired sound. I contacted MotionRc and stated my problem. the next morning they asked me to send them a quick video of the motor in action to help me troubleshoot. I sent the video on Friday. I received an email on Monday stating my product had shipped... 10 minutes later I got an email stating that the bearings were probably bad and a replacement was on it's way. Wednesday I received the replacement. Now my 2 original planes are as fast as the corsair! Thank you MotionRc for great customer service!
further update on "a great motor for 1700mm warbirds!"
Here is updated data on this new 300kV motor with a fully-charged 6S, 40C lipo in a 1700mm P-47 fuselage: full throttle draws 70A, 1550 watts, and at least 8 lb of static thrust. Although I really had lack-luster performance with the original kV270 motor in the same 1700mm P-47, I now expect fantastic performance. In fact, I plan to get this motor and scale prop set up for a Topflite P-47D modified to M version and should weigh totally about 12 lb.
a great motor for 1700mm warbirds!
Definitely a great leap in performance compared to 5060-kV270 that was in the version 1 of this 1700mm warbird. Used stock 4 blade propeller with stock installation (without shim under the leading edge) and drew 65+ amp on 6 cell resulting in 1250 watts on a 80% charged battery. Weather now does not permit flying, but the motor exerts a definite powerful pull on the fuselage at full throttle. Should expect much better performance in the air. Even much cheaper than Hacker A50S series, but will same or more power.
