I think this plastic is too thin. my cowl warped in the sun. That is not right and then have to buy another one. supply a umbrella for this plane. Or make the plastic thicker.
****** 2000 cowl
Very satisfied good job guys
Motion had this cowl in stock, and shipped it quickly. Cowl was a perfect match to the plane. I only wish it had been made from some slightly thicker, less flexible material.
The cowl is a sorry thing. I have nosed over (just on the prop) 2 times, and guess what, the cowl cracked and broke along the scoop both times. It is so flimsy that it is only held on by three very small screws. They need to strengthen it or make it out of fiberglass amd use heavier screws. I had to buy another ****** and all three screws were stripped in the holes and I could pull them out with my fingers Was able to install servo mounting screws in the holes and paint the screws black. Again, quality control must exist on this plane. I also found that the motor mounting screws were about 1/4 inch out of the hole and the motor would vibrate around. Replaced the elevator hinges because of coming apart after 2 flights. With the new plane, for the cowl, I 1st fabricated a piece to completely fill up the opening of the cowl..Used shim strips (used to square up doors and windows so I could get the required angle to install. Then glued it to the fuse itself. Now, of course, I never again will have a nose over. RIGHT!
