FMS 1450mm (57") P-51D Mustang V8 Big Beautiful Doll Receiver Ready (PNP) - FMS008BB
When this version 8 of the FMS P51D Mustang was first introduced a few years ago it had the most scale detail and most refined features of nearly any EPO foam RC plane on the market at that time. The attention to detail and quality was simply amazing for the time and still holds up in today's world of ever-growing features and amenities for foam warbirds.
The ailerons, elevator, and rudder feature 17g metal gear servos and the servoless e-retracts feature metal trunnions for extra durability. The landing gear struts on the FMS P51D are all metal and shock absorbing. The large tires and shock absorbing struts allow for easy flight from a grass field and also help to take the force out of an occasional hard landing. The flaps on the FMS P51 feature an extra slow moving servo for scale detail.
The inner and outer landing gear doors open and close using a sequencer to allow for the most detailed landing gear ever seen on an FMS P-51 Mustang. In addition to all the features, the FMS P-51 is simply an amazing flyer. The latest version features a scale sequencer, battery tray, metal gear servos, and many more updated features.

- battery tray
I have this plane, and ,believe you me,it is probably the easiest plane for even an inexperienced pilot. It takes a beating, and keeps on flying. I use a Detrum Gryo rx and tx,and once in the air,it lets you learn w/o the help of another pilot with a "buddy box". I'm Us I g the 6ch Detrum gyro rx and tx,and I'm able to have flaps and retracts. I would recommend this plane to any and everyone.
FMS beautiful doll
FMS P-51 beautiful doll is just that gorgeous, the craftsmanship is good the battery tray is a excellent feature, nice servos and everything worked out of the box. I needed a little bit more formats so I changed out the motor I changed out to run on 6 Cell and now I get the performance that I've always wanted and P-51 I've always wanted to look at.
p51 Big beutiful doll
What a great plane ,easy to put together ve everything about it ,thanks motion rc for great service
Received very quickly as always. Very nice plane! Flies great!
Nice P-51 but Excellent customer service! Motion RC Rocks!
So I haven’t had the opportunity yet to fly this bird but the build went together fairly easy. Unfortunately I found as I was wrapping up the build that the prop adapter plate was cracked in multiple places. This obviously was an issues as I didn’t feel comfortable gluing it not to mention the balance would be off horribly! Called Motion and Michael hooked me up with a new adapter plate. Took all of about two mins. **** happens which is why I’m giving this bird 4 stars for now but 5 stars for the C.S.
new review with upgrades and wing fixed
Ok so the p51 is not tuned so i fixed my wing warpage and it fixed the funny rolling to the right at higher speed, also fixed the under powered feeling by angling the prop with a bread tie cut into 4 pieces i may use a tooth pick next but with the bread tie it have it an actual scale take off and climb!! yaaay its not a **** anymore!! also i had a clevis break, the one to hold the gear door down and i fixed it with a tack! so if your wing is warped just take some hot water so hot it burns you and dip a rag heat up the wing and bend it back let it cool and repeat that process about 6 times and walaa!! its strait now!! thanks motion for the advice it worked GREAT! but u gotta get it hooooooot hot hot.. hot hot hot!!! so all in all i think if fms tweaked there product a little bit more.. even if the price went up just a little bit they would leave everyone in the dust, this aircraft is scale! looks amazing with the gear doors and all but its slacking in a few spots places it needs work, #1: the power is way off, it literally needs the prop pitch adjusted just to be fun to fly and not frustrating, #2: q. c. control the wing being warped was kind of an easy fix but should have been caught seeings how it effected the flight characteristics #3 during fight speed dive up elevator will cause the plane to slightly roll because there is no suport on the elevator from the control horn to there opposite side, #4 there is less rudder throw to the left side do to the control wire bending needs more support #5 the landing gear is strong but the plastic mounting plate will snap just from faster not bouncy or hard landings in grass they need to be reinforced some what. in conclusion everything that is wrong with the plane can be fixed and its kind of fun to fix too and for what i got i think if it was 299.99 it would be perfect price but if it had better power and those problems were fixed it would be worth more like 350$
looks great but had some issues and some goods
ok so, the plane looks great, 10-10 looks and style, now the prop set up i don't like its not balanced maybe ill buy new blades and hub... second the aileron on the right side of the wing it warped, like a warped 2x4... motion rc said i can fix it with a warm rag and clamping it ect.... haven't had success with that yet. so with the warped aileron unhooked from the servo it flys great! but slow banking obviously. with it hooked up it randomly just rolls upside down even after trimming and adjusting like crazy i have the as3x in it and its like i need to be in safe to get it to fly right with the warped wing, honestly for the money i feel i could of got a better plane to fly but not as scale looking, o and the flap was cut all the way threw like 50% i was afraid it would blow off so i put some glue, unfortunately thats the only thing that i could fix thus far, 3 flights in and im not sure if ill ever buy another plane from motion rc or fms again... maybe its not motions fault but its no were near as fast or fun to fly as i thought it would be thats for sure,.. ok now for some goods the landing gear works great and sturdy all tho did require some adjustment but thats ok, the battery location and tray is nice clicks in good and the servos are all easy to get to and adjust the build was easy too.. hanger queen basically
Doesn't compare to the Airfield p51
I had the same wingspan airfield p51 and it was a much better built plane too bad they don't make it anymore. It's the same wingspan but everything on this plane is smaller, fuesalage, propeller, tail, landing gear and battery compartment. The fms control board is super finicky and you always hit it every time you put a battery in and then the retracts and one wing will stop working. The cheap plastic clevis's On the control horns are brittle and have broken 2 just putting it together. The Velcro straps for the battery are very cheap. And it's underpowered on the recommended 4s power. Disappointed with fms....
