FMS 1400mm Pitts Ultimate Sport Bi-Plane - Receiver Ready (PNP) - FMS058
The 1400mm FMS Pitts Biplane has to be one of the most bang-for-your-buck models they have ever produced. With the twin wings it has a much larger presence than typical 1400mm-sized models. Performance is spectacular! Truly one of our favorite FMS models to-date. One of our Fly Guys even painted it up in the bright red Oracle livery. Talk about presence! Just add a smoke machine and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between model and the full scale version at 400 feet in a spiraling descent.
This 1400mm FMS Pitts is slightly updated. The servos are now all metal gear so customers don't have to worry about stripped servos during aggressive maneuvers. In addition the spinner has been upgraded to a far more durable 3 piece spinner. We feel these were the two major weak spots in this plane and both have now been addressed.
- New redesigned spinner for much better durability and balance (as of 12/6/2013)
- New version includes all 17g Metal Gear servos
- Four ailerons for extreme aerobatic performance
- Vivid, high contrast color scheme helps keep the plane visible during flight.
- Powerful 360kV high-torque motor gives the plane plenty of power to perform aerobatics and 3D flight
- Durable EPO Foam

FMS Pitts 1400mm
I built this knowing it might need some things changed. I USED A 4000 6 CELL up front as far forward as I could get. Spektrum AR636 RX . I did change out the wheels for Du bro low bounce rubber and I used foam tac on all joining parts. I covered the entire plane with 2 coats of Spar urethane to keep the finish nice and protect it from the sun. It fly's awesome. I love this plane. Kind of spendy but worth the cash. Typically land under power and back off after wheels start rolling to avoid nose over. Very aerobatic and a great sport flyer.

Still putting this together. After pulling off the **** FMS decals all over the plane there is some minor foam damage on the top of the wing which I’m hoping to cover with the help of Callie Graphics. In addition both top wings have some indentations on the leading edges which may be from the manufacturing process. I’m sure the plane will fly well and I’ll love it but for the price I would expect some of the higher quality components like ball links, nylon hinges etc.which you expect to see on airplanes at this price level. The foam quality is ok but you can see a great improvement in panel lines etc. in newer models. Motion RC is the best in the business and I wasn’t going to complain, but they asked me.
FMS 55" bipe
I have not built or flown this model yet. I purchased it for a future project. I have, however, unboxed it, inspected it and tested all the electronics. It appears to be a very high quality model and everything works great. There are only two criticisms of the model I have at this point. 1. I wish the decal stickers were supplied on a separate sheet to allow the builder to apply them or not. It is a lot of work to safely remove the factory applied ones without damaging the foam finish if you want to create your own color scheme. 2. I cannot understand why in a model of this quality and price the manufacturer supplies cheep, rock hard foam wheels. I do not think it would cost much more to supply soft rubber wheels. I will have to change them out and install Du-Bro low bounce wheels. This being said, however, It looks like this will be a great flying model and I hope to have many happy flights with it. Norm
This thing is nice
I purchased this plane to fulfill my fleet with an biplane, couldn't decide weather I wanted a christen eagle or a oracle biplane.... while not Sean Tucker's currently flown challenger III aircraft, thought this was a good similar version, had plan to cut wings and tail square, along with landing gear mod but quickly found out this EPO cant be cut cleanly, never the less I decided to leave it "stock" other then a oracle paint job. as a christen eagle had more differences.....I have not flown yet but setup and assembly was simple and looks to be build well.
Favorite FMS Model
While the FMS 1400mm Zero is the best flying foam warbird I've ever flown, the 1400mm Pitts is by far the most fun FMS model I have ever flown hands down. I painted mine as the red Oracle and WOW it just took the whole experience to a new level. The only thing missing would be smoke which would just be ridiculously awesome. I can fly this bird just like the full scale and it performs and looks every bit the part. Great stock power, definitely has a bigger feel to it than a 1400mm model as well. I honestly can't think of one negative. This is a must for any bipe/3D RC fan.
Love love love this plane....I love pitts' I used to have the 1/ 3 red scale great planes Pitts had to sale very sad...this is a beauty albeit I will be painting her...as of yet my skills are not adequate to her fly her but hopefully soon
Worth the money!!
I have been wanting this plane for quite some time. I finally pulled the trigger on it. It arrived on time and in great shape. The build went well with a few minor issues, but nothing that couldn't be overcome. 2 bigger issues were, an elevator servo was bad, but I had a few metal geared servos as spares, so all good there. Next was the CG. The manual states 90mm back from the leading edge of the top wing. There is almost no way to get this to balance at 90mm. After reading reviews, and watching a ton of youtube videos I decided to go with 115mm back from the leading edge. I run my 4000ma battery all the way to the firewall, and still had to add 3 oz. of lead to the nose to get my neutral balance. Now with all that said, what I have is one the best flying planes in my hanger. It flies as good as it looks. It looks and flies like a 5 star airplane, but the bad servo and wrong CG was a bit of a downer. But it is still worth the money, and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a great performing biplane.
