Ok for the price

I put this in an FMS F-15 eagle, switched to a 2200 4 cell, the plane does take off faster, and is faster in the air but not what I hoped for, I may need a bigger battery, the unit does fit a 64mm very nice and seems good quality for the price.

EDF Motor

Fantastic performance. Very rare to have a 64mm inducted fan that operates with a 4 cell battery.

The 4 cell power combo works great. Flight time is @ 2 min 10 sec but she is really fast.

Excellent EDF, what are you waiting for, blindly go for it..

This unit weighs about 124gms, i purchased 65A SBEC5A Mantis ZTW ESC along with this, it weighs about 58gms. The test results are as follows - 64mm 12 blade freewing EDF + 65Amp Mantis ZTW ESC + 2200Mah 11.1V 25C Wolfpack LiPo = 650gms of static thrust 64mm 12 blade freewing EDF + 65Amp Mantis ZTW ESC + 2200Mah 14.8V 35C Wolfpack LiPo = 1060gms of static thrust Unfortunately i could not measure how much Amps the setup consumed, after test the ESC was barely warm, and this ESC has build in cutoff (i.e. it reduces the throttle automatically if the Amp consumption increases against the rated Amp of ESC, so i'm sure it did not cross 65A) Next i'm gonna try the static test with nozzle, i'm planning this power system for my scratch build FT Viggen, which i'm currently using with prop setup, After wasting so much money on other EDF, i finally got the right EDF setup with good performance. For $35 nothing comes close. This is a screamer in a smaller 64mm jet.

Came almost perfectly balanced with 3.5mm male connectors already soldered on right out the protective box. Get at least a 60A esc cause with a good battery I've seen this combo pull right over 70 amps on the bench. Sound is amazing and like I said Motion gets it just about perfect straight out the box so non need to waste your time balancing. This is such a powerful unit I dont anything can touch it as far as the instantaneous thrust produced to get whatever jet you have it in on step and able to rotate without a worry about lacking power. What are you waiting for??? Grab a few!!

Great way to burn up your motor, stress your speed control and puff your batteries

I purchased this a while ago along with a friend who I fly edf jets with. My friends heated up and seized his motor within two flights. Mine lasted a few flights more...(5 total) despite programing with the recommended Mantis Speed control and recommended Mantis programming card. After sending his motor and speed control back and forth a few times back to Motion, there is another new one coming for him. We don't know if the issue has been resolved as of this writing. For me, I'm just getting into the return process with them after some time. We'll see how it goes but at this time, I can't recommend this product. Either there is a bad batch out there or something has not been "speced out" properly or tested. Hopefully Motion will make this right at some point.
