Very fine fan
This EDF unit hits the sweet spot for the Stinger 90.
I put replaced the stock motor with this unit in my Stinger 90. Thrust measured on my little home-made test stand went from 2923 grams (stock unit) to 3756 grams (1680Kv unit). Though this unit weighs five ounces more than the stock unit, the thrust-to-weight ratio still improved from 0.9 to 1 (stock unit) to 1.1125 to 1 (this unit). It increased model weight by 4.5% while increasing thrust by 28.4%. The performance increase is well worth the slightly heavier weight. Take-off distance is shorter, because acceleration is faster, while vertical climb (any climb really) is unreal. Strait and level speed went from low 90s mph, to about 103 mph. This EDF unit is absolutely awesome in the Stinger 90. You should treat yourself to this experience, it is well worth the price.

90mm upgrade edf power system w/ 4068-1680kV motor
I installed this unit in my Freewing 90mm F-16 because I fly off of grass, and it surely did help. I seem to have more power for take-off and more speed in the air. I have bought 2 more of these units for other edf jets I have in hopes of having the same results. A drop-in replacement unit for the stock set-up. I gave it 4 stars because it is 5 ounces heavier than stock, but it doesn't seem to matter, so maybe 5 stars is deserved!
Best balanced EDF unit I ever bought
Bench tested the EDF unit, with a new Gecko 155A ESC prior to installation in the Stinger 90. This is absolutely the best .. perfectly balanced EDF I ever bought.
It only took about 40 minutes to swap out the old unit for this one; easy. While testing at home, I found that the thrust to weight ratio is right at one to one. Brought it to the field today and tested it. While flying past my position low and at 75% throttle, I pulled the nose up into a steep 70 degree climb and punched the throttle. The plane climbed and never stalled until I ended the climb because it was nearing the end of my visual range! I leveled the wings momentarily at half throttle, rolled inverted and pulled the nose down into a vertical desent. About half way down I increased to full throttle, pulled the nose level and passed my position noting an obvious increase in speed over the stock fan unit. The plane actually seems a bit quieter but still has the same "jet" sound. I also noted very little difference in flight time/ power consumption. Almost every single person at the field today paid me coments on how "sweet" the plane looked and flew. Get this upgrade for your stinger and you won't be sorry.
