Freewing F-5 Tiger II Camo 80mm EDF Jet - PNP - FJ20811P
Introducing the fifth jet in Freewing's 80mm EDF Jet Series, the iconic F-5 Tiger II. This RC airplane proudly wears the livery of the CAG’s jet of the VFC-111 “Sun Downers”, an adversary training squadron in Key West, Florida. Freewing’s rendition incorporates a thicker airfoil to enhance the lifting body design of the original F-5, imparting the stability of an RC model with the standoff scale looks of the real jet. This exciting F-5 model provides speed and scale agility in a stable platform that also looks great!
Freewing's 80mm F-5 Tiger II is the perfect size for easy transport without the need for disassembly. Optimized to fly our common Admiral 6s 4000mAh or 5000mAh lipo battery with an EC5 connector, the Freewing F-5’s pre-installed electronics and control hardware minimizes assembly time to about one hour.

this jet is huge, the build is simple but take your time gluing the halves together i used epoxy and also added carbon fiber to strengthen the bond..it looks awesome
Product arrived within 4 days everything was in good shape. No missing parts. Ive bought 6 aircraft from MOTION RC, every one of them, arrived early, or on time, and have been in tip top shape. Customer Service stands at the ready, goes out of its way to provide remedial action, should you have any questions, problems or difficulties. Great Job Motion RC.!
Assembles easy; I used hot glue. I balanced it to the rearward end of the tolerance- flys and lands great. Before assembling wings, I did connect all the servo Y leads then pull through the opening to the hatch area. And, you might want to pull the slack from the vertical stab toward the hatch area too. The canopy/battery access cover takes a good push down to latch. Trimming it out was fairly easy and nearly hands off- I didn't really pay attention to the set up as it was shown in the manual. It does tend to roll a slightly to the right on lift off.
Very nice flying jet. flies like its on rails. lands a bit fast but i'm working on that with the flaps. I too experienced the nose geardoor issue in flight trying to make a left hand turn. I put a small piece of balsa next to the outboard side of door to limit it's travel. Left just enough room for gear to clear door and that fixed it. kit came with zero defects. went together without any problems. Update on nose geardoor issue. I had a grass landing and that ripped door off. I took my dremel and cut out the patttern of the strut and wheel and then secured door in the closed position Works great!
This Model is old but very good value for the money. the only problem is the power stock... this model need for speed! i change my set with a brand new FMS edf and esc. less weight and more thrust is what this model needs. fabio
Great quality have it all built waiting to fly it
This plane was packaged well, and the materials used are top notch. It has very good scale detail all round and it was easy and straight forward to assemble. The fan produces a realistic jet sound and looks great in the sky. The cons that i found with this aircraft is 1: it is a little under powered especially if you have a grass runway 2: the front fuselage section has to be glued on to the rest of the fuselage (I suspect this was designed to minimise the damage if crashed) 3: I would have preferred the wing tip rockets to have been designed for easy fixing and removal to avoid damage during transit. Unfortunately, I used too much expo which took longer for the plane to turn which resulted in losing orientation and the plane being lost.
The Freewing F-5 Tiger II 80mm EDF Jet is an outstanding model and very well made. I have not flown it yet, but if it flies as well as it is made, then it will be amazing.
