Freewing F-5 Tiger II Camo 80mm EDF Jet - PNP
Freewing F-5 Tiger II Camo 80mm EDF Jet - PNP - FJ20811P
Introducing the fifth jet in Freewing's 80mm EDF Jet Series, the iconic F-5 Tiger II. This model proudly wears the livery of the CAG’s jet of the VFC-111 “Sun Downers”, an adversary training squadron in Key West, Florida. Freewing’s rendition incorporates a thicker airfoil to enhance the lifting body design of the original F-5, imparting the stability of an RC model with the standoff scale looks of the real jet. Utilizing Freewing’s proven 80mm 12 blade EDF with a 1680kv outrunner motor and 80A ESC, this F-5 model offers speed and scale agility in a stable platform that also looks great in a never before modeled color scheme. Bring something unique to your RC airfield!
Freewing's 80mm F-5 Tiger II is the perfect size for easy transport without the need for disassembly. For more versatile transportation or compact storage options, the rigid, carbon fiber reinforced wings are removable with screws, as are the unique vertical stabilizers, and full flying horizontal stabilizers. Hybrid gear servos on the full flying horizontal stabilizers ensure positive control, and pre-installed flaps help to slow down landings. Designed for operation on pavement or very short grass, the F-5 features aluminum trailing link struts all around for durability, and the shock absorbing struts dampen hard landings to reduce bouncing. Plastic main gear doors and a spring-hinged full coverage nose gear door minimize drag and maximize speed.
For pilots who have flown other aircraft in Freewing's 80mm Jet Series, the F-5 Tiger II is stable like the F-86 Sabre, and is slightly slower than the Mirage 2000 with a less axial roll rate, making the F-5 an ideal first 80mm jet. The three tone desert camouflage color scheme is very easy to see against a blue sky, and the included missiles aid in visibility. The F-5 is optimized to fly our Admiral 6s 4000mAh lipo battery with an EC5 connector, but it can also accommodate the Admiral 4500mAh or 5000mAh. Pre-installed electronics and control hardware minimizes assembly time to about one hour. The Freewing 80mm F-5 Tiger II is recommended for Intermediate to Advanced pilots only.

Very nice flying jet. flies like its on rails. lands a bit fast but i'm working on that with the flaps. I too experienced the nose geardoor issue in flight trying to make a left hand turn. I put a small piece of balsa next to the outboard side of door to limit it's travel. Left just enough room for gear to clear door and that fixed it. kit came with zero defects. went together without any problems. Update on nose geardoor issue. I had a grass landing and that ripped door off. I took my dremel and cut out the patttern of the strut and wheel and then secured door in the closed position Works great!
Damn is Good!!
This Model is old but very good value for the money. the only problem is the power stock... this model need for speed! i change my set with a brand new FMS edf and esc. less weight and more thrust is what this model needs. fabio
Great quality have it all
Great quality have it all built waiting to fly it
This plane was packaged well, and the materials used are top notch. It has very good scale detail all round and it was easy and straight forward to assemble. The fan produces a realistic jet sound and looks great in the sky. The cons that i found with this aircraft is 1: it is a little under powered especially if you have a grass runway 2: the front fuselage section has to be glued on to the rest of the fuselage (I suspect this was designed to minimise the damage if crashed) 3: I would have preferred the wing tip rockets to have been designed for easy fixing and removal to avoid damage during transit. Unfortunately, I used too much expo which took longer for the plane to turn which resulted in losing orientation and the plane being lost.
The Freewing F-5 Tiger II 80mm EDF Jet is an outstanding model and very well made. I have not flown it yet, but if it flies as well as it is made, then it will be amazing.
Sorry still in the box been to busy to get to it
Great F-5 model!
This F-5 flies really nice! Plenty of power, speed, vertical, and slows down comfortably for landing. Lots of fun with this bird!
Freewing F-5 electric jet model
Good little jet, easy assembly, needs a good solid flat runway. Tall grass overwhelms the small size landing wheels. Likes to side slip on turns, keep turns as flat as reasonable. A 4 minute flight is average. Roll-out takes a bit of runway. Sounds and looks great in the air.
