Freewing F/A-18 3S 64mm EDF Jet "Royal Maces" - PNP
64mm 3S Freewing F/A-18 EDF Jet "Royal Maces" - Receiver Ready (PNP) - FJ10711P
The Boeing F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine supersonic, all-weather carrier-capable multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (F/A designation for Fighter/Attack). Designed by McDonnell Douglas and Northrop, the F/A-18 was derived from the latter's YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The Hornet is also used by the air forces of several other nations. The U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, has used the Hornet since 1986. The clean lines, stealth profile, and scale details are all captured in this exceptional 64mm EDF Jet from Freewing Models. Simplicity and durability were major design factors with this model. All airfoil surfaces (main wings, and elevators) are attached to the fuselage using a new modular joiner system which improves strength and allows easy parts replacement. Quality electronic components come pre-installed so you can be in the air in less then one hour.

Everyone has extra 2200 3s
As I expected the 3s setup is under powered, but I have plenty of extra 3s 2200's. The plane still flies VERY well, you just can't expect short takeoffs and unlimited vertical. You have to fly it on the wing, but freewing has the aerodynamics figured out. It is a pleasure to fly! Personally, I was looking to recreate the memory of sitting out on a sponson watching the F/A-18's returning from the day's missions - fits the bill perfectly! Negatives: wish it had rudder, but not a deal killer, and heat shrink on bullet connectors had large gaps, easy fix.
Great for pusher conversion
Went together quickly. What took time was converting to a 2200 kv pusher mounted high enough to avoid testing up 3 bladed 5x4 prop.l and. Fpv set up. With 40amp ESC and 1800 mAh 4s produces more than 1 to 1 thrust and 4 min flights. Cheaper batteries longer flights faster more thrust instant power and lighter weight. Just have to get the motor pushing down angle so thrust won't nose down. Robust landing gear Excellent design Minimal assembly Flies like a dream The power system that comes with it fits nicely in the trash can.
Freewing F/A-18 3s 64mm Royal Maces
This is the best looking plane. The details are spectacular. Very well built and is super fast.
Hello everybody I have bought Royal maces 5 blades two weeks ago,Very good Jet,flying on 3S little slowly but fly, then i put 4S 2700 mah ,goes like ****. Very good flyer, excellent performance.Belly landing no problem. I am very satisfied, lot of fun and entertainment all the time with F18. Greetings to all RC lovers and pilots from Croatia.
What a Great Jet for an even Greater Value!
I was very pleased with this f-18, as it has excellent power, and even better construction than previous f-18 models I've owned. The 5 blade system will work well with hand launching using a 3 cell 2200mah battery. Be aware that some 2200mah batteries will cause this aircraft to fly tail heavy. This aircraft will behave very unstable with a tail heavy CG. The full flying elevators are excellent for loops, but will put you in a stall if you're not careful! I added a 40Amp ESC from my E-flite Corsair into this bird, and the standard ESC didn't seem to arm properly? The servos are very good quality, and have 0 chatter. Construction is again, very well designed. The manual was very nice. At 109$ you can't beat this plane! You just can't! One of the few great values left out there for a good sized EDF jet! Great job!
Very Good EDF
Very Good EDF
Someone will have to give you a plane to beat this one. Extreme detail
Best Quality Brand Plane I Ever Had
I bought it's brother, The Tophatters but crashed as I stalled doing a flip. I was not used to the full moving stabilizer. So I ordered this cheaper Royal Maces 5 blade and put the Tophatters 12 blade in it. I"m very impressed as it will accelerate vertically to 400 feet quickly and pulls out of a power dive easily right over the deck. I really like the bolt on wings. On other brands you have to scrape the paint off before gluing wing to fuselage. The bright yellow trim shows up better than the Tophatters trim. In the past when I really like a plane I will order two spares in case the model is discontinued. Hopefully this Royal Maces will be upgraded to a 12 blade, then I will order two more.
