Futaba 8J Air S-FHSS 2.4GHz 8 channel radio with R2008SB 8 channel Rx - FUTK8100

This is the Futaba 8J radio system with S-FHSS (frequency hopping spread spectrum) technology. Futaba is known for making the highest quality and most reliable systems on the market. The Futaba 8J is one of the most reliable and most economical 8 channel radios available. Don't trust your models to an off brand unreliable radio with no support or warranty when a radio like this is available. The 8J has a large backlit display, 20 Model memory, telemetry, and many popular features only found on more expensive radios. With all these features and a fantastic price, we think the Futaba 8J is a radio worth owning. The radio requires 4AA batteries. We recommend using Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable AA cells. An optional rechargeable NiMh pack is also available.

    A Solid Transmitter

I used to fly with only 4-channel Futaba transmitters. I purchased this 8-channel for building the Corsair F4U and other warbirds that have electric landing gear and flaps. I've also felt safe and sure with Futaba products in all of my RC aircrafts.

    Great radio

Had been out of the hobby for ten years but always had Futaba in the past. Decided to get back in with this radio. Does not disappoint!! Easy to use and has many nice features. For the price you can't go wrong. The only thing I wish it had was telemetry.....

    A tad disappointed

I received my new Futaba T8J transmitter within 3 days. I have not used it yet to fly one of my planes which it should do quite nicely. However I have 2 points of disappointment in the unit. The throttle tension is weak and doesn't do much better when tightened, and the warning tones are so weak I can hardly hear them so that makes the timer and other warnings useless. I give it 4 stars. Guess I'll have to give thae people over at Hobby Services a call on it.

    Awesome! 5 Stars

I've been using this radio hard for three years now. I own the T-8JH and have been running both helis and airplanes. I have never experienced so much as the slightest signal interruption or glitch. The radio does not have telemetry but there are many, very flexible, programming options. It has a 20 aircraft memory and is very easy to use. The receivers are also very affordable and use a dual diversity antenna system. There is no better, more reliable, more functional system for the money.

    Excellent Radio

This was my first computer radio. I had signal loss problems with my after my Spektrum DX5e probably due to antennae orientation. This problem is solved with the 8Js internal antenna. I wanted to fly an FMS P51 mustang and bought this radio because Rich Baker from RC Informer and Pilot Ryan from Motion RC use it. Works great with the recommend Eneloop Nicads. There's also an excellent $50 Futaba case on Amazon. 6 channel receiver price is cheaper than Spektrum. No regrets here!

    CAUTION!

Let me start by saying that this is a GRAND radio. It's eaconomical, high quality, and easy to use overall. My only issue is my own stupidity. I tried to upgrade it to a 5cell Nmh battery. I charged the battery, connected it to the radio and FRYED the system when I turned it on. I was unaware of what the max voltage was. I assumed it would be semi-variable. I own a TACTI radiuo that is quite variable to the voltage. My new 5cell battery was putting out 7.68v when I tried it. Most radios can handle 7 or up to 7.2. I didnt think about it bewing to high, ad ZAPPED my Tx. OOOOHHHHH well. I guess I'll end up ordering another 7 or 8 channel radio soon enough. Why do I tell you this you ask? Simple. Dont be a ***** and fry your system.
