The RocHobby F-16 is a fun to fly, predictable EDF jet built with very scale details. This airframe is very "floaty" and easy to land yet has plenty of power and maneuverability. The brushless EDF power system puts out 850g of thrust while the flying weight of the RocHobby F-16 is a feather light 575g. This is one of the many things that make this RC EDF jet a blast to fly. With nylon hinges, a brushless motor, 50A ESC, and 5 micro servos already in place, this Receiver-Ready replica of the famous F-16 Falcon can be turning heads and drawing attention at the field after installing your receiver and battery of choice! Like all RocHobby planes, this one is manufactured by FMS.
Speed Tip - for those who love speed
If you really want to have fun with this RocHobby F16, do not put the drop tanks and under wing missiles on the jet. We also tried removing the landing gear and related parts. The speed and performance difference was amazing. While not unlimited vertical, this jet has more vertical than most any stock jet in this configuration. We also used the outermost hole in the aileron servo horn and inner most hole in the aileron control horn. This made the F16 ultra maneuverable and gave it a ridiculously fast roll rate. There is enough power for super easy hand launches in this configuration. If you like a fast and maneuverable belly lander, try this configuration. We love it.
The F-16 power plant has been upgraded from a 4600Kv motor to a slightly larger diameter and higher revving 2627-5100Kv motor. In addition the ESC has been upgraded from a 35A to a 50A ESC. We now recommend running a 2200 3S LiPo pack in the EDF jet. The foam has been upgraded from EPS to a more durable EPO. While EPO is never as smooth as EPS, we are very impressed at the "smoothness" of this EPO foam. We think you will enjoy the extra durability. Lastly, the two elevator servos have been separated and now use a Y adapter for connection to a single elevator channel. We recommend removing the Y cable and plugging each elevator servo into a separate channel (may require servo extensions depending on your RX location). This allows each half of the elevator to be separately subtrimmed and perfectly centered for even throws. This setup allows more precise control in loops, immelmann turns, rolls, and inverted flight.
