RocHobby F2G Super Corsair Reno Racer - High Speed Version Receiver Ready - ROC009-1
RocHobby is becoming known for excellent 1100mm 4S racing planes. This F2G Super Corsair follows in the foot steps of the high speed Strega and high speed Critical Mass. This plane has nothing but top quality components such as sturdy digital metal gear servos, a robust 70A ESC, and a reliable yet fast 3648-770kV motor. The excellence does not stop at the componentry. This plane was designed with performance in mind so carbon spars are used to strategically beef up the plane. The guys at Motion were all extremely impressed with the rigidity. We are sure you will enjoy the performance of this plane since we've clocked it a 90+ mph and the vertical ability of the plane is unlimited. The bystanders at your flight field will be absolutely amazed by the looks and performance of this plane. We would be remiss if we did not mention the bright navigation lights, landing lights, flaps, and servoless electric retracts which make this plane perfect.
88458, known as "Race 57", was the fifth F2G Corsair produced. The plane finished first in both the 1947 and 1949 Thompson Trophy Races. Unfortunately the plane was bought and sold many times after this and slowly deteriorated. The plane was purchased again in 1996 and brought back to life in 1999. The owner raced the F2G in the Unlimited class at the Reno Air Races from 2006 to 2008. The plane was also featured in the movie Thunder Over Reno. Currently, the aircraft is on loan to the Fargo Air Museum.

- May 16, 2014 - We have been running an Admiral 4S 3000mAh LiPo pack in this plane to extend flight times. We find the performance to be very good and flight time is significantly extended. We had no CG issues running this larger battery and it fits in the large battery compartment without any issues.

Battery bay modification
Well I found the easy way to modify the battery bay to hold easily a 3000mah 4S. Just cut the notch where the front canopy section goes into the body of the plane. Then put the battery into the bay connector first and you will plug in under the cockpit canopy. The esc wires are nice and flat and you have lots of room . The 2200 mah batteries go even with the front of the forward canopy edge, 2500-3000 batteries go about 1/2 inch back from that frond edge. CG there is perfect.

Well designed for speed good price highly recommend
Finally Got This Plane.....
Well, I have wanted this plane since I first saw it and now that I can actually fly....including landing...I can't wait to take it out this weekend. It is really a good solid plane and for $199.00 to get something that looks like this with metal gear servos, a great power system, ball link connectors, navigation and landing lights, flaps and retracts I am very happy. I can't wait to dispel the reviews about the landing gear being bad, I always wonder how well someone can fly when all you hear from them is a negative review. And if there is a problem that I can't fix myself (Part of this Hobby) I will talk to any of the guys at Motion and we will figure something out, just like anytime anyone of us out here in flying land can do and they will help out. Please remember to treat the customer service people with respect because I can't imagine what they have to put up with sometimes. I would hate to have any of them quit because they are some very fine people who try to do their best. Michael-Martin-Brad-Wayne-Derrick-Matt...you guys are the best!!!! So get the plane, it is pretty cool. Nick
F2G RED CORSAIR
I THINK THIS ONE OF THE BEST PLANES I EVER PUT TOGETHER. IT LOOKS VERYEXCITING AND PROBABLY WILL FLY VERY VERY WELL. I cAN'T WAIT TO FLY IT.
This plane is amazing! It looks too good to fly. It is my 2nd plane after flying an Apprentice S for a year. Not the best choice for a 2nd plane I know, but I managed to tame her after just four flights. Now all I can think about is when I can fly her next. Flying the 4s 3000 Admirals to the tune of 8 minutes with moderate throttle activity. The battery compartment is tight requiring a leash on the batteries to get them out easily. I struggled with trusting the flaps and my first couple of landings on asphalt were rough but everyone survived and the retracts still work. The bright red makes the bird easy to track in the sky and the LEDs allow for those awesome sunset flights we love out here in AZ. My only real complaint is that the plane wind-vanes bad during taxi. My plane did a 90 right in to a chain link fence and snapped that beautiful prop instantly. I just ordered a few new props and another canopy to modify to fit my RunCam2. If you're sitting on the fence, just pull the trigger and buy it, you won't be disappointed... until you crash it! ;)
Awesome flying plane, but a couple of issues to be dealt with.
I bought this plane a while back and love to fly it, but... I have a couple issues. The battery compartment is a bit of a struggle. I might have to add an extension to the ESC lead. The biggest issue so far is the retracts. I bounced a landing on a windy day and now one of the landing gear won't cycle. I either raise them after take off and can't lower one, or, I hand toss it and MIGHT be able to lower both of them. I would think the retracts should be tougher than this. I contacted Custer Service via chat a while back, and the guy said that he just belly lands it which I really don't like doing as it mars the really nice finish. MotionRC/RocHobby should warranty these retracts, OR, there should be an upgrade somewhere. I really really like the plane, but the retracts are a serious detriment to be wanting to fly it as the trouble it causes.
i love motion rc
One of the BEST
This plane handles well, flies great and lands great! I was not disappointed
Nice Looks and Performance
I debated over giving this one 4 or 5 stars but the strong points outweighed the not so strong. 1st the not so strong points: 1. The battery strap was located to where I could not strap the Admiral 4S 2500 Pro in and get the correct CG. I had to move the battery 1/4" aft of the the edge of the battery strap and add 1/4 oz. weight to the tail to get her dialed in. 2. The plane handles well but doesn't have the performance that the Strega has but it is heavier 3.125 lbs. stock and I added .25oz = 3.14 lbs and the Strega is 2.83 lbs; .31 lbs is a chunk heavier in a 3 lb plane. Now the strong points: 1. Tracks well and gets up on the mains well better than Strega. 2. Takes off well needs a bit more speed than the Strega to avoid torque roll but very manageable. 3. Flies well, rolls axially, loops very nice and doesn't wing stall. 4. Landing is the strongest point IMO...it lands very well, very stable, sets in on the mains well, and rolls out nice. I am not sure why some of the reviews mention weak landing gear as mine seem way more than adequate. 5. It looks fantastic. It looks really great going by or sitting in the pits...awesome looker!!
