This is a great edf wing! I have this and the Swift and love them both, but they are two completely different aircraft. This one is the easiest hand launcher I've come across and I've hand launched many different types of planes. It's pretty fast (not as fast as the Swift) and like the Swift, will also fly very, very slowly. This is a great first edf for anyone looking to make the jump from props and flies great on an 1800 3s battery. You can put a 2200 in but the compartment is a little cramped for it and it really doesn't need it. I've had it for almost a year and have gotten dozens of flights completed, with no worries of crashing it. The Swift is more of a challenge but those who already fly it will also love this one!
Fast, Flys great, easy to hand launch in a little wind. Using it to fly out my battery packs when it gets to windy for my 3D airplanes. Foam battery cover falls off in a negative G maneuver so added a little plywood and servo arms as a hatch lock.
Great wing easy to fly, I take it with me on every trip to the flying field
Awesome! Easy to assemble, fun to fly.
I enjoy shopping at Motion RC and they are very reliable too.
Took the Neptune out for the first time today first EDF I have owned Hand launches very easy, It has good speed and can be flown at quarter throttle with still enough power for loops and rolls. The glide characteristics and stability is amazing on this plane which makes for nice easy landings. Using a 2200MAH 30C battery I was able to get 5 minute flights with Mixed throttle and still had 3.85 volts per cell I mounted the ESC to the outside of the plane for good air flow and it was barely warm to the touch after each flight the battery was also nice and cool. before the first flight I changed the servos to Freewing metal gear servos which worked flawlessly for the 4 flights that I have had so far on this plane. I have read about problems with the stock plastic gear servos and for the price of the metal gear servos they are well worth it. I have to say this is a great all around fun plane and I would recommend it to anyone that is comfortable flying a trainer plane with ailerons. Unlike the previous review with the stock motor and ESC I did not experience any shudder it was very smooth even at full throttle.
I bought this after flying a friend's blue version. I upgrades the power system to a 12-blade 64mm fan for 4s. The wing will shudder and oscillate at higher speeds, and that's because the spar that's included with it is pitiful. I reinforced it with carbon rods so we'll see how that helps. Assembly was simple and quick with regular CA.
