Front yard fun

In your front yard, cul de sac, or at the flying field, beginners and seasoned pilots alike will find the X520 to be a lot of fun. Excellent control in the vertical mode. It will spin and dance, sway and boogie. The one touch landing feature is pretty cool as well. One flip of the switch puts it into horizontal flight with a full 6 axis gyro with bank and pitch limiting for the beginners, and one more notch on the switch unleashes it for intermediate and advanced pilots. Returns to vertical mode for nice, gentle one touch landings, or can be landed as a conventional model if desired. If you have children, and are looking for the perfect model to get them into RC flying with, you will not go wrong with this one!!!

XK 520 RTF

I bought this version from Bangood earlier this year and have been enjoying the VTOL aspect of the model. This one is a real joy to fly if you can fly early enough in the day before the wind picks up. If you take off vertically it will drift quite a bit in the wind, but does fine taking off and landing in the wind if you fly in horizontal mode. I can easily fly in a schoolyard close by my home and I would recommend you set a timer for 9 minutes of mixed speed flying. I have found my model does not give you much notice that the battery voltage is close to LVC and it has dropped out of the sky. Fortunately I fly over grass and the nose was easy to glue back on with foam cure. The video reviews done by Quadcopter 101 are very accurate as how the model performs.

New VTOL

While I have not had the chance to fly it yet, it just came today. My first impression when taking the box out of the cardboard shipping box was: ****, what sort of junk 'toy' is this? First impression of the model is not too bad though I thought even from the first email ad that it was a quick competition for Horizons' X-Vert which is a wild little VTOL. That is the kind of performance I expect. A minor error in the contents in the ad says EVERYTHING is included. Not so, You still need 6 AA batteries for the Transmitter. So I charged the included 2S 7,4 battery and assembled the few parts to complete the plane. I almost had to go to D.C. to get an interpreter to translate the ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE Chinese 'English????" in the instruction manual which is about the worst I have EVER had to struggle with. The charged Rx battery is such a tight cramped fit I couldn't get the wires and connector in all the way and had to leave the cover off. I had a LOT of trouble getting the bind to work or connect and it almost seems I will have have to re-bind before each flite. Or maybe I'll have to go to Night School and learn Chinese, so I can better figure out the very poor instructions.
