This ZTW Gecko series ESC is a high-quality, efficient brushless electronic speed control. It can operate without the need for a separate receiver battery to power your servos and receivers saving you weight and simplifying your electronic connections (but a separate BEC is required, see below). 120 ZTW speed controller
I liked that it had a clip on mount and the wire connections were already installed. This is the first EC5 battery connector that I’ve had and found out that I like these better than other connectors.
Cant go wrong.
Running a 12s 90 on it. Works great. Very smooth throttle response.

Great esc but no EC5 connector
Got my second one of these for my F16, this one had no EC5 connector but description of item says it does have pre- installed EC5 connector, had to wait to get one .. delayed my build for a few days. And also the leads to the EC5 connector are 10 gauge but very short. They should make these longer, as the F-15 and the F-16 I have from motion , I had to extend the leads to the motor so I could get my EC5 connector to reach battery way up front.

I am very impressed with this gekco 120 ESC, power comes on very linear, it can be programmed to suit your needs and I have not had any problems with them since I have been using them in 8s set up. Thank you Motion RC again for caring great products at a reasonable price
Nice ESC but confusing anti spark instructions
This ESC fits nicely in my F15 , with a great little plastic base it comes with that I ******* onto plywood plate and the esc snaps into it... the only drawbacks are the 4 capacitors that are external of esc ( wired to esc) that you have to figure out where to mount those ( I slid them up under front ply plate where all the servo wires run up to receiver), BUT the biggest snag for me was the anti - spark circuit that this comes with, it's one red wire that comes out of esc, and the instructions say to put some type of connector on it and hook another wire to the positive lead of your battery, hook those up first , then hook up main battery connector... well doesn't work at first as advertised...( found out once you connect the little red wires , the main battery neg lead has to be connected to esc connector first, then main pos lead) I asked Motion for some help and they pointed me to a google search for anti- spark set ups that people have been using ... and after hours of watching others videos and trial and error, I found that I hook up my little positive leads first, then hook up the main negative black ec5 half of the battery to esc ( I have my ec5 battery connectors split as I run two 4s batt's in series for 8s) then the esc beeps weakly, ( the capacitors are charged now through a built in resistor on esc) then I hook up main positive lead ( no spark!!!) , and I have a switch from my ubec to rcvr that I switch on then to power up rcvr . I had to put the switch in , because when I first hook up little pos plugs and main negative plug, the power comes back out the main pos lead from esc and powers up my ubec, and doesn't give the rcvr enough juice, and the servos buzz and drive to their full postions, and when I hook up the main positive lead and everythings powered up. the rcvr is stuck in a weird mode where my stab servos ( run as two 09arate servos to rcvr for tailerons) will not work. So I have to keep the rcvr unpowered until the whole anti spark process is done, then I switch in power to rcvr and all is good. But hey , no spark this way ! If others know a simpler way of doing this let me know, otherwise I think it's a flaw in the Gecko circuit design,,,,maybe I missed something in the very simple instructions???
