How do you enable verticle thrust vectoring on a Dx6i? I have the horizontal vector with the rudder, but cannot get verticle to work.

That's because you cannot assign enough switches on Dx6i to accommodate TV.

Go to MIXER and turn it ON
Set Master to ELEV
Set Slave to CH6

I ran the 2 vector channels separate and steering separate from the sticks. 10 channel Rx. But sounds like you're servo lead from your elevator vector isn't y-harnessed to your elevator servo. Run all different CHS and on VR switch. Then slave on on switch to appropriate function.

What if a guy does"t care for thrust-vectoring ? Can a guy just disconnect a servo and spot glut the nozzle straight and then be good to go?. Will such a thing mess-up the f-35"S handling? thanks man !

You can do that. I would not recommend gluing the nozzle before the trim flights. I found that if the thrust is a little too positive or too negative once the plane is trimmed for level flight when you throttle to idle it has either a nose up or nose down attitude. I would adjust the nozzle until it has a nice slightly down nose attitude with power off. If you want to glue then OK.

I run mine on a different switch. ELE and RUD have T/V slaved to it. That way I can center using the VR Knobs. Need a 6ch Rx to do. I would not glue.

Yes... No problem doing this, but you really need to get the nozzle alignment right before you permanently lock it in place... But then you will have no rudder function in flight either. What I did was just disable the vertical vector function by fixing the pushrod for that function to the fuselage instead of the servo with a screw at the right spot... This let me still be able to adjust the nozzle angle with the thread on the pushrod... You really need to test fly a few times to get the vertical nozzle angle right otherwise it can really "leap" off the ground on take-off with either too much nozzle up or too much down... Recommend leaving yourself the option to adjust it.

Will the admiral rx 6000 with stabilizer receiver work on this with both stabilizer and vectoring on or do I need to turn off one or the other?

I would think you would not want to run a gyro / stabilizer unit with this as it would work against you trying to do maneuvers such as Cobra or flat spins

It has no rudder but you can set it up with the vector thrust but the vector on this jet has little effect for this plane

Good Question, I'm not sure on that one because the f-35 Lightning flies so well I do not have any stabilization on this aircraft.

Ok so without a wing spar doesn't that run a risk of the wings folding on high g turns ?

The wing joint is very strong as long as it is glued properly. Zero flex. The blended wing design shares some of the aerodynamic loading with the fuselage as well. The wings are relativly short. The overall weight of the craft is light (EPS foam instead of heavier EPO). Mine will take a high speed dive then full up elevator. It looks as though it makes a 90 degree rotation in the air.

Hier mal Stichpunktartig die Pros und Cons für die Manschine, also zumindest...read moreAuch wenn das Model schon etwas älter ist, hat die Freewing F-35V2 definitiv ihren Platz im Flugzeugreagl verdient. Hier mal Stichpunktartig die Pros und Cons für die Manschine, also zumindest das was ich bisher über sie rausgefunden habe... - positives Rumpfform und Zusammenbau ist befriedigend, guter Lack und annehmbaren Aufklebern, guter 4S Jet mit überraschend viel Power für eine 4S Version und schönem modernem Jetsound (nicht laut und angenehmer klang im Flug), EPS Material ist gewöhnlich ein gewichts Vorteil, gute bis sehr gute Flugeigenschaft, besonders im Langsamflug, sehr gute Segeleigenschaften (also antriebsloser Flug), startet und landet ohne Probleme auf kurze geschnittenen Grasbahnen, Strömungsabriss unkritisch und für erfahrene Jetflieger unproblematisch, auch wenn vielleicht nicht besonders hübsch aber gut funktionierendes und stabiles Einziehfahrwerk, Vektor-Steuerung (auch wenn ich persönlich kein grosser fan davon bin, kann sie sehr hilfreich sein, auch bei Start und Landung) - negatives EPS Material, ein Bodenrolle und man hat nur noch Krümel weil das Material sehr brüchig ist, Aufkleber sind leider schon aufgebracht (für mich als Bastler (Modder) immer ein Nachteil), Tarnschema was wirklich gut aussieht aber in der Luft nicht besonders gut zu sehen ist, keine Beleuchtung was hier definitiv helfen würde, Akkufach auf der Unterseite und zu kleine so das man auf einen Akkutyp festgelegt ist, schlechter (schwerer) zugang zum eingebauten Empfänger, Wartung oder austauch einiger Servos nur mit grossem Aufwand möglich. Hauptfahrwerk ist leider nicht gefedert, - Fazit Insgesamt für mich aber immer noch ein sehr guter 4S Jet mit viel Flugspass für kleines Geld, gute Flugeigenschaften und ausreichender Flugzeit für den verwendeten Antrieb. Ein Gyrosystem (wie +3xG von Graupner oder AS3X von Spektrum z.B.) würde die Flugeigenschaften bestimmt noch deutlich aufwerten. Auch wenn hier das eine oder andere Scalefeature fehlt ist die "kleine" F35 V2 für mich immer noch ein Gewinn und brauch sich auch hinter grösseren 6S Jets nicht verstecken.

However, there are some drawbacks: - One of the servo cables had the plus and signal wires switched. - Power of the engine feels way less than anticipated from the preview. Assembly is easy and fast. This jet is agile as rudder deflections are much higher than recommended in the manual.
