Once unpacked and thoroughly inspected, I ran through the destructions quickly to familiarize myself w the build. The web page describes a pull-pull rudder, and the manual displays pictorials of the P-P AND an aft mounted rudder servo, the parts bag only comes with supplies for a stand alone servo. No big deal for me, as I plan on using a 40CC twin on the point anyway and can use the weight, (maybe). I was pleasantly surprised at the CF used throughout the aircraft. The fuselage weighs only 1.6lbs before any parts are hung or installed, VERY light as compared to other aircraft of this size in typical PLY and Balsa construction. I have a slight concern about the integrity of the firewall holding up to a gas engine as it seems to be a bit on the thin side, but is an easy structural fix to make it stronger. A single gas paint shaker might rip this kid to pieces, where a twin will be a lot smoother. I'll find out and update this ramble accordingly. I see that Black Horse incorporates a few plastic paaaaarts into the build as well. the wheel pants are plastic and actually an easy install, so no big deal, BUT a plastic "onion skin" spinner on a gas engine AINT GONNA CUT IT. the spinner has danger written ALL over it. Just saying. The elevator is also a bit of and issue for me, as it is a single servo control surface and the elevator covers a LOT of real estate. Worth watching and I'm not sure it's worth hacking and cutting the elevator into a split control surface over the factory setup. It's definitely an easy build, I expect I can have her finished in a few hours. Lots of real nice hardware as well as a killer fuel dot and vent as well as a "modern" type gas tank. So far it's going together without any fuss, I'll update this review if I run into any issues, but other than this it's definitely with the cost. She should be a nice addition to my hangar once completed.

The plane arrived well packed and the quality of the parts seems good for the price point. Wheel pants and spinner are plastic but spinner is good quality. The wheel pants are the only part that seems cheaply made. The plane arrived with a broken aileron (compression fracture). MC customer service really struggled to replace the part as all the parts listed on the website are V1. Current model is V3 and has been in service for a while so not sure why V3 parts are not being sold. Be careful here as the plane was redesigned and all V1 parts are not direct replacement for V3. I am not sure any are, for that matter. In regards to the build, the plant went together well with only a few challenges. First, not all of the hardware was included so you may be missing a few bolts or washers. Next, the manual seems to be a mix of V1 and V3 instructions so you will need to be aware of what is applicable. Construction wise, the landing gear was the only part that needed significant modification. The gear was too wide and did not sit down in the saddle area. You will need to file down the sides of the gear and then expand the saddle joint so the gear fits properly. The standoffs for the electric setup are too long when all connected so you will need to use shorter ones to get a good finish when the cowl and prop are installed. I did use the recommended admiral motor and the prop adapter is way to big for the backplate. I purchased the correct size adapter and everything worked well after that. Finally, be careful applying the decals. They very easily capture air bubbles given the size. The maiden was uneventful and the plane files really well. I flew on both 10S and 8S. I would recommend avoiding 8s setup as the plane seriously lacks power. On 5000mah batteries, i was able to fly 5-7 minutes depending on style. Also, the MC video review mentions getting longer servo arms. This really is a must do for all servos if you want to fly 3D. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product, but remain really concerned about part replacement given my recent experience.

The wheel pants and landing gear carbon strut are the worst, the carbon strut is not pre drilled for anything, you have to do it yourself, both for mounting the pants and mounting it to the fuselage, the pants are cheap plastic, with alot of plastic edges from the molding that will need to be trimmed off. For a 700$$ they should be more akin to the cowling. Which is a fiberglass work or art. Other than that, its a beautiful kit....

After I paid the kit I asked for a manual via email to get familiarized with its assembly I received a old manual that has split elevator... etc...and for that reason had a lot of assemble problems until I decided to look the manual in the kit box and found out they were different and corrected the mistakes. Carlos Velarde, Lima, Peru I have rated the price as good because you did not charged freight to Miami.
