Phoenix Edge 130A ESC with 5A BEC from Castle Creations - 010-0099-00

It's hard to go wrong with Castle Creation ESCs.  Ideal for helicopters like the Roban 600 series running 6S LiPo power.  Phoenix Edge Series ESCs are the next evolution in speed controller technology.  The white user-programmable auxiliary wire can be used for features such as helicopter governor gain input adjustments mid-flight, serving as an audible beacon after an “unexpected landing”, acting as an RPM output for 3-axis gyros that support RPM sensors, be used as an ESC arming lock or as a receiver arming lock.  Combined with data logging, access to Castle’s industry leading software functions, and USB programming capability via Castle Link USB adapter, Phoenix Edge offers unparalleled versatility.

The landing gear and gear doors function absolutely scale-like. The LG is very robust. This bird is a home run. Even better than the appearance, is how it flies. It is a scale trainer. To land, pull half flaps (I have never used full flaps), start reducing throttle, line up the runway, clear the end and keep easing back on the throttle. Just before touchdown, flare and set it on the mains. She is a beauty. Even the nose gear came set up straight and true right out of the box. This may be the best value in scale RTF. I would buy another in a half-heartbeat id anything happened to this beauty.

        To date I only have three flights on the model. I am using a 5200mah size pack and at our altitude of 5000 feet it handles the extra weight very well. It flies great.
