The Panzer VIII is probably the most well-known tank in history. Its aura of mystery led to a lot of interest and curiosity over its many years, but there are mixed thoughts about it depending on legends surrounding it. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII "MAUS" was a prototype German super heavy tank from the Second World War that weighed 188 tons! This project was carried out for 1942 - 1944, with only 2 incomplete prototypes ever built and never entered service. In April 1945, both abandoned MAUS prototypes were captured by Russian forces at Kummersdorf training ground near Berlin which had been left behind during wartime evacuation efforts. They were combined into one vehicle by mounting the hull from first prototype onto the hull of the second.
Panzer VIII "MAUS" is a very special model in the COBI collection at 39cm in length. Removable covers on the turret and hull give you access to the detailed interior. Removable engine, opening hatches, movable barrel and working tracks are other advantages of this set.
"MAUS" is a must for enthusiasts of history, armor and the secret weapons of World War II. Thanks to the intuitive instructions the construction is simple, but due to the unique design of the interior, a large number of elements and the time needed to assemble it is recommended for experienced builders.
